>I can say and understand a few things in English.
maybe
you know you can take a test for free
> __________ are lecturers.
>1) My both parents
>2) My parents both of them
>3) Both my parents
>4) Both of my parents
i'm taking one of them and it says 4 is wrong, is that true?
both 3 and 4 seem to be correct to me.
>uefap
3 is the correct answer imo
idk how to explain it it just comes up naturally to me
Really? It seems to me that only 4 is correct.
i know, but at least in grammar.
idk maybe we need to summon a British flag
hold on I got this
ahem
briexit was a mistake
4
IMO, 'both' is adjective in 3, and a pronoun in 4. both seem grammatically correct.
4
"Both my parents" and "both of my parents" are correct
Alternatively you could also go with "My parents, both of them, are lecturers" although this is redundant as one can only have two parents
shut the fuck up terrorist
both are acceptable in everyday language, 4 is slightly more formal and 3 is probably correct for the test as 4 indicates there is more to the question, using of indicates someone has has asked a question where 1 parent may be different (with regards to the answer).
Thanks lads
Can't you also say "my parents are both lecturers"?
Or is that not grammatically? That's how i would say it in everyday conversation
yep fine too, it generally depends on the conversation - how the questioner asks even down to tone, and how the conversation has progressed before the question in question i think.
real nip here, what do you want?
how did you learn English?
did you study it or was it self taught?
also why do most nips have shit English
I went to study in the US during my childhood.
People speak engrish here because our english study programs taught in school is utter shit. It also has to do with our native language; people are too used to pronouncing syllables so it is difficult to pronounce the individual alphabets.
