Hey Sup Forums, are you ready for MAXIMUM STORAGE!

> UHS-I sd card
yeah no. I'd rather have a fast 128 gig one
is 512gb really all it's at right now?
i swear they had 2tb at trade shows early last year
even 256gb was about $50 for black friday, wasn't it?
>soon hard drives (HDD and SSD) will all be replaced by microSD
Impressive. And yes, I did see that the article noted it was for Android phones only. If it can be done for that format, it can be done for regular computers (if it hasn't already).
>tfw your phone has as much storage as your computer
This kind of storage is not as fast as an ssd and i think it hardly beats a hdd.
I dont know much about reliability tho.
No to everything you just said.
But this won’t fit in my iPhone X
>I dont know much about reliability tho
You can rely on chinks to take several of them, stick them in some drive and try to sell them as a terabyte SDD.
it's slower than the slowest hard drive currently on the market, the seagate archive.
it's slower than usb2.0 or 100Mbit ethernet.
if you started to write 500GB at dinner time it would be ready for breakfast.
Your iConformist will, however, fit up your ass.
what is the physical difference between a 512MB and 512GB micro sd
There's a G instead of an M
WTF are you talking about? Did you also see those new 64gb $300 DDR4 rams?
I don't see a problem with that, just format ext4 for Linux, F2FS for Android and exFAT for Windows and you are done.
This would be fine for me. All I use my SD card for is music
So what's the point of an SSD if I can get one of these for 1/10th the price?
SSDs are fast.
>80MB/s transfer speed.
Lol
raid microSD when
this is wonderful
we should make cute miniature racks for them and everything
that's reading.
writing is probably 30ish.
>writing 512GB with 30MB/s
nope
I'd use it mainly for my mango collection
Using it for apps and shit is a terrible idea
you changed timeline again user
>i swear they had 2tb at trade shows early last year
They had sdxc microsd with 2tb, and that was maybe 4+ years ago. I wonder what happened to them.
there never was a 2TB micro or any other sdcard. There IS a standard Sdxc that supports such size ....
Is it a bad idea to own 20 of these, running ZFS for data integrity for a storage server with maybe one mechanical drive as a parity drive? Is this even possible?
Are you using a chromebook or something?
its possible
but why would you when you could get 20 8tb hdds for the same or less money
hdds last a lot longer than sd cards
They never, micro SDXC can THEORETICALLY support up to 2TB, but noone made that card yet, it will take maybe 5-10 years till we can reach that limit
>it will take maybe 5-10 years
lmao, it takes only 1 year to double capacity, so I expect them in 2020
