The same circus every time.
At best a VPN will stunt scare letters from your ISP and will bypass a government firewall/unlock geoblocking, then again not everyone lives in a third world country
(and to defuse geoblocking there are better tools anyway, like a Smart-DNS proxy; it's useless to re-route all your traffic and lose native bandwidth)

The benefits of hosting your own

AirVPN

So how does one protect their torrent traffic?
also,
>If somebody wants to tap your connection, they can still do so - they just have to do so at a different point (ie. when your traffic leaves the VPN server).
incorrect because the connection is now visible as coming from the VPN server, not you.

this just sounds like an CIAnigger shill trying to get people to give up their privacy.

I won't tell you because the more people who use it the slower it will get.

Iknowhatyoudownload already tracks HorribleSubs

You're an idiot

You should buy a gokart.

>So how does one protect their torrent traffic?
How do I know you didn't even read a single thing?
>incorrect because the connection is now visible as coming from the VPN server, not you.
How do I know you didn't even read a single thing?
>privacy
VPN does not grant you any privacy, period.
Besides, if you're living in a third world country and you're afraid of your ISP scare letters it makes more sense to get a simple VPS and install rTorrent. Pretty much what has been coincidentally addressed here as well.

Here's your neglected (You), pathetic mouth-breather.

>@64624746

I host my own VPN for two reasons:
1. So my ISP can't see/sell my shit
2. So I can use public wifi if I'm in a situation where it's necessary (happens a lot in uni) and not get datamined/sniffed
There's nothing wrong with using a VPN. This guy is just debunking everything we know isn't true already.

>and to defuse geoblocking there are better tools anyway, like a Smart-DNS proxy

Do you mean something like a split tunnel?

eh
