Name a better P2P client than Soulseek

>protip; you fahkin' cahnt.

Wanna find that obscure 1992 progressive rock album your uncle in law recorded? Soulseek probably has it.

>that faggot who downloads shit easily found elsewhere. while also not having anything shared
maddening
is there a way to automatically block non-sharers?

I've been thinking of giving it a try since I've given up on trying to find seeded torrents/DDL of ハンバート ハンバート(humbert humbert) albums. Can anybody confirm if I can get them through soulseek?

k I'll check

>ハンバート ハンバート
I found whatever the fuck this is

>hes not on j******i
LMAO

Just searching "humbert humbert" gives more results. Seems to be a lot of French people named that.

>he thinks jpopsuki is a super secret site

>he isn't aware of /ptg/ memes
LOL

alright, thanks for trying.

I'm too lazy to deal with private trackers.

>posting a screenshot of a torrent site
/marked/

you deserve nothing

is there a cli client for it? the last time I checked they were all dead

Sometimes different times of the day will yield different results because more people may be online.

>you deserve nothing
fair enough

>being a general fag
delete yourself

A
>is there a cli client for it? the last time I checked they were all dead
There is a cli with an optional ncurse frontend that look so cosy but hasn't been updated for ages. Museek+ and mucous

Doesn't happen that often. If you message most of the people who don't share their files automatically, they will share. I don't know what they're accomplishing with that at all.

>cli
Autism

>(humbert humbert)

Is there a paste or guide or something to get started with soulseek?

>try to dl just one album
>can't find it anywhere else online and getting a legit copy is now impossible
>guy won't share unless I share 500 rare files

I understand the sentiment but some of us are not data hoarders.

Search for pseudoscorpion on slsk
Download the album and listen to it in full.
Sup Forumsfags shutup

Happens to me more than 10 times a day. I thought about throttling my upload limit
Try
Add it to your wishlist and wait. Someone else probably has it

I honestly see no reason to sign up for a private tracker when 92% of albums there are in 320 and maybe 75% are in FLAC. Unless you're doing something like specifically looking for the b-side of a rather obscure single, you'll never have to listen to anything below 256

Haven't seen one, but it's not really hard to use or anything. You'll just have to get accustomed to the culture of the network. To get the best experience you'll want to interact with other people to get on their userlists and to add them on yours.

Oh yeah and I suggest you to take a look at different user's userinfo pages, some of them are helpful.

I don't have ultra obscure music tastes and my uncle doesn't make music, therefore I find 90% of what i want in rbt archives.

>not knowing what transcodes are
YouTube2flac sir?

Not him, but, what, why? Why transcode something just so it can take more space without getting more quality?

>some asshat believes FLAC sounds better because it's FLAC, and transcodes to it
>some jabrony who has reason to collect FLAC downloads the files believing they're FLAC files ripped from a good source
>ass FLAC files keep spreading

because people are stupid. FLAC is usually fine but theres tons of 320 transcodes on soulseek.

they won't implement an automatic way, but if somebody with no shares downloads from you it'll show up in your messages where you can block them
this doesn't help against people who share an empty folder or a small shit folder though

>guy has album you want in FLAC
>locked
>go to his info
>WILL ONLY UNLOCK FOR TRADES MUSIC I WANT IS LISTED BELOW

>people block you from downloading even though you have a huge folder

The solution is setting up a queuing system that favors people that share too. I don't mind if people with no share download from me, but I let people who have good shares download first. If I download something from another user I add him to my list, people can also message me if they wish to be added to the userlist.

>at 99% on the last track
>user goes offline and months later has still not returned
JUST

for well over a decade it's been where i go to find music i can find nowhere else, and lots of it, AND lots more similar music

i'd probably be a complete pleb today with regards to music if i had not discovered it

yeah, that's what I currently do, but I'm too lazy to act on it unless it's some retard downloading whole discographies.

this would be so good.

i stopped bothering to block people, i only get rare stuff downloaded from me since my upload speed isn't very good, and people downloading rares typically aren't nonsharers

>this would be so good.

That how it works though, or did I not understand what you meant?

I may have misunderstood what your post said - does the system currently automatically prefer "good" users over "bad" users, or are you talking about how userlists work?

>halfway through a porn download
>user gets on a month later and blocks me the instant i connect

I'm talking about the user list. The Qt client has the download priority feature that allows you to do this.
