Why do they only listen to top 40 music? I guarantee if you walk up to any random ass girl on the street and ask who her top 3 most listened to music it'll be someone who is on the radio constantly.

Because women are typically more social reliant than men. They crave acceptance from their peers, and in order to fit in they have to be caught up with all current cultural things. This includes top 40 music. The real question is is this due to the inherent nature of women or the effects of society?

Women are molded by their surroundings, they dont seek things out, they cannot be reactionary, they are naturally passive. Their prime evolutionary role is to stay alive to bring life to the world, not to create and discover things like men, so they will settle for whatever satisifies their base needs, therefore they listen to whatevers popular or whatever churns their feels momentarily. If a girl has good taste in music then chances are her male relatives or previous boyfriends have made that her dominant environment.

This also. But, on average, in general, men are more depressed than women. There's almost definitely an evolutionary base that has to do with men's isolation coupled with the fact that humans just need contact with other humans in general. Also. We need women emotionally speaking more than they need us. Probably because of the depression and just general melancholy. But, men's depression seems less anxiety based and men are more "type B" than women, so, the depression is easier to handle, is "lazier" and also is just kind of overlooked (mostly by ourselves).

This is also true. I think more men have a deeper connection with music though just through a more isolationist standing. Men are more isolated more of the time as most men don't find as much pleasure in large social gatherings as most women do. These are generalizations, so I'm not going to try to justify this at you if you don't like larger gatherings or anything of that sort, it's a logical train of thought from observation, not an argumentative essay.
Another overarching statement, that is easier to agree on at least, those that are isolated will have more of a connection to something, especially arts. Movies, T.V., drawing, maybe even cooking. A hobby or past-time becomes more important and becomes something other than just that. I won't say "an escape" because a) it sounds stupid and cliché put that way and b) (that his one is the larger of the two) it's normally related to by the person, which is exactly not escaping.
The isolation can be saddening, even if one does not enjoy the company of others. Sadness as well as time to think over things and let the mind wander seem to lead to a sort of depression that comes with an odd clarity and sombreness. Things are still enjoyed, but, something feels missing (which is why I think, emotionally, men need women more than women need men, at least to a degree) and the thing missing tends to be companionship of a like-minded person.

The only girls I've ever met with good taste in music were all depressed, and had serious issues and self harm scars. They would fuck me because I listened to slowdive and joy division and looked indie but were too broken to form real relationships with. I meant more that males are the more isolated and introverted of the two, bringing it back around to the musical taste thing in general. But, regardless, being a more social person won't inherently inhibit a similar musical taste and even then, some social women might still not like top 40s pop, they may just have, for lack of a better term (and this would include the top 40s too), "entry-level" musical taste, i.e. nothing too obscure or I guess "deep", but, she could still be into something like The Raconteurs or Weezer or Pixies (under certain circumstances for that last one, some stuff by them is a little more out there), not top 40s pop, but, people know the names and have probably heard a song or two at least by them.

No, assuming music is the time-passer of choice, isolation will give way to deeper music and more intricate taste and meaning. They might still like pop, but, less well-known pop (pop the genre is not to be confused with actual popular music). Also. Patrician is subjective and I'd rather it be left out in this context seeing as how I'm trying to objectively speak about a deep connection with music rather than what albums or artists are better than the other.
