It doesn't seem to be producing the most compelling ideas now, so I'd say... it's not that, like, 'rock' is back or some shit... but pop pop isn't enough in itself, the idea seems to be spent somehow
i now understand why people listen to kpop.
porn is banned is south korea so that's how they compensate
I certainly understand why people look at kpop; listening to it though...meh
the verse in that song was kind of interesting though
OH NO
POP IS DEAD
its all about kpop now
i don't think that's true
everyone watches porn there
and porn obviously isn't banned in japan and jpop is a lot more leery in that way
But what is the difference between kpop and american pop? Just seems like a different language set to the same sound as something you would find in the top 40
the difference is you cant understand the awful lyrics so its better
>yeah i like pop for the music. Not just listening to it for the image at all. Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Shakira, Ariana Grande, Callme Maybegirl, Taylor Swift, Grimes, Rihanna, Prince, The Kpops. The list can go on
i guess kpop is kind of a frankenstein's mishmash of different things from the history of western pop thrown together and with the hookiness tweaked to maximum. there is also a melodramatic sensibility that as far as i can tell comes from its being korean. i think it'd be hard to find anything quite like these in western top40:
kpop seems to be stuck in the late 90s boy band style
What toppings do you put on hotdogs
bbq sauce
very impressive
What? How can it? Pop music is popular music lmao. The only way for their to be no popular music is if music is undesirable by a majority of the population. You're claim is retarded.
Pop is better than ever.
this isn't even korean wtf?
why do people pretend to like kpop?
is 'fitting in' really worth it?
>pretend
>pretend
> verb (used with object)
1.
to cause or attempt to cause (what is not so) to seem so:
to pretend illness; to pretend that nothing is wrong.
hope that helped
you do understand that kpop is actually softcore porn because porn is banned in korea, right?
it's a medium to sell sex not music.
>it's a medium to sell sex
you know next to nothing about kpop. plenty of purepop and gaypop groups that blow up
NO if anything the underground as we know it no longer exists
this is so obvious. even the kpop threads are purely a discussion of the girls. it's the ultimate consumerism. kind of a sustained tease, almost-porn. some people seem to live inside it.
kek; i bet they banned porn just because how japan is known for it. koreans are truly pathetic
>its all porn for guys
man wait till these guys see their first shinee OH thread
it's just waifu faggotry. Porn is banned in Korea so K-Pop is all depressed middle aged men have.
what is there to know? you heard 1 kpop song you heard them all.
they probably won't. kpop is the most popular filter
the actual demographic in korea are female teengers and 20-somethings. Sure there's a niche that fulfills that aspect but it's just a bunch of Korean One Directions meant for people to fall in love
It's funny how the K-Pop defense force comes out whenever someone points out what K-Pop actually is and who it's made for.
you're dumb if you cant tell this thread is just kpg having a laugh
this is some good shit, user. Was not expecting that. Quality post.
but you don't know "what k-pop actually is" or who it's made for based on your presumptions as an outsider
different groups have completely different target audiences and you can't reduce the music to this anyway
don't be a fucking idiot. a cursory, even 2 second glance at a kpop video or promotional image tells you everything about what kpop is about and for
>tells people not to be a fucking idiot
>proceeds to be an ignorant asshole
>what kpop is about and for
and what is that? pop is pop and its appeal is to the wide masses / general audience
(same poster continuing)
and obviously I'm not talking about the non-girlgroups, when do anyone on the kpop threads ever talk about those (and even if they do talk about boybands rarely, it's to get all boyfu on them)
not the user you replied to but with that same logic it would be safe to assume that porn is banned in the US because of how blatantly sexual the music videos are.
Yes. Where the market is primarily female teenagers and 20-somethings. None of us are trying to say it doesn't appeal to the lowest common denominator, but to say shit like youtube.com
is meant to sell sex is ridiculous
Ever noticed how western pop isn't focused on showing the audience nipples and pussy lips in 99.9% of the music videos?
Lorde would never be a successful kpop artists purely because of how she looks.
whatever western pop you're watching isn't what im watching
Did you choose to ignore the example i gave on purpose or by accident?
wasn't really sure what your angle was since lorde is sexy but there are many lordes of kpop
There's being sexy and then there's having a fanbase that has folders of your cameltoe showing gifs on their computers.
You just linked two videos where boyband twinks dance furiously and shake their asses.
If this doesn't contradict what you say i don't know what does.
not him but there's plenty that is more comedic like american pop mv's
that is clearly meant to sell sex appeal.
yeah he's so in denial.
dude just needs to admit to himself he's addicted to essentially soft-core porn.
"y-y-you're just ignorant!"
go back to your grimes or whatever
grimes is the kpop of the west. waifu worship cult for people who don't really enjoy music.
shyshyshy~
nice try twiceshitter
>youtube.com
didnt know there were coed groups. neat
