I bought this 60$ heavy block of shit and I still regret it. I don't get how anyway can say mechanical keyboards "feel nice". I mean yeah, it feels DIFFERENT, but not noticeably BETTER in any way. If anything, it's actually slightly WORSE because you don't get nearly as much physical feedback on when the key you pressed was actually pressed (and I went with the Cherry Brown switches so go fuck yourself if you're gonna say I choose wrong type). Motherfuckers who say their word-per-minute rates increased after they switched to mechanical are lying sacks of dogshit and will burn in the 9th circle of hell for being shameless shills.
After about a year of forcing myself to use it to justify my purchase, I switched back to my comfy 15$ Micro$hit curvy keyboard I've had for over 5 years.

If you go into any professional work with gimp instead of photoshop you'll get laughed out of the room.

Working with GIMP is like working with two hands tied behind your back. And you don't even have the tools to use with those hands. So you hammer on the problem with your bare knuckles until you crash and fall because the ladder you were working from was designed and made by some libertarian nutjob basement dweller as an afterwork hobby project.
GIMP simply lacks vital workflow features and functions to make it half as useful as photoshop can be. It's not just a matter of re-arranging the icons or remapping the keyboard shotcuts. It's really fundamental stuff like content-aware scaling, quick selection, selection edge refinement and heal brushing which either doesn't exist on GIMP or exists in really bad niggerified versions.
And just like every single other Free™ piece of shitware I had the mispleasure to use, it crashes every 5 minutes (which is only moderately better than Inkscape's 4.5 minutes or Blender's 0.017 microseconds).

Even if we concede that GIMP is a viable alternative to Photoshop (it's not), what other possible Freedumbs software or software bundle can compare with the rest of Adobe's suite? What is the Linux equivalent of Premiere, InDesign, or, god-forbid, After Effects? Moreover, what other software bundle can compete with the sheer productivity-increasing INTEGRATION between all these aforementioned programs?

Sorry, I do real work like programming and don't draw pretty pictures all day. Last I checked developing software on windows is absolute ass and bloated to all hell. Mac's are proprietary and shit hardware wise so they're out the window. That leaves GNU/Linux, or BSD, or Minix.

Sup Forums told me Ubuntu was for noobs but as i aged with linux I realized Ubuntu and Debian were great for getting shit done. Want to get a Ripple Validator or Server up and running fast? Install Ubuntu, fucking done. A large amount of the population here wants to jump right into arch as soon as possible yet that trial by fire has been replaced with Manjaro and Antergos which are both easy as shit.

My point perhaps wasn't clear enough now that I come to it. What I mean is work is work and hobby is hobby. A restaurant uses a huge bulky industrial dishwasher, and you clock your time on it and you finish the days work and go home and there you can do whatever, wash them by hand or buy a washer of ranging prices and sizes but don't try to tell me handwashing is better when you need to do 200 plates an hour.
