Why does acknowledging the United States' victory in the Vietnam War make so many people around the world upset?
It was like seventy years ago and I didn't participate so it's not a big deal to me, but if you point out that America won then foreigners will throw a massive shitfit
You have to respect somebody who succeeded where you failed
James Bennett
>.info Yeah this virus looks really reliable and objective
Andrew Lopez
Why did I even bother posting
Aiden Sanchez
What makes you say that? I have no delusions, if the USA kept sending people to vietnam you woud have won for sure, but it was taking so long and people at home were complaining about the war, so you guys took off. How is that winning?
Christopher Rodriguez
This is that Russian diaspora in Germany.
Lincoln Garcia
Well, convince me. What is your definition of victory? Does it apply to the final outcome of this war? Consider the initial purpose of the conflict, not just a further derivation of it
Luke Edwards
>What is your definition of victory?
The destruction of communism and the spread of the American way.
Ian Jones
It was a tie IT WAS A TIE!!!
Thomas Nelson
So vietnam was 100% a loss considering vietnam is still communist/socialist.
Ian Powell
American intellectuals are going at it again
Christian Rivera
Vietnam hasn't really been socialist since the 80s when they copied the Chinese state capitalism model.
Oliver Sullivan
...
Asher Richardson
>mfw this is the power of the non-American education system I'm actually laughing that you guys could be so wrong.
Isaiah James
Yeah, but they copied China, you didn't impose it. When America left Vietnam, it still was a full commie state. So you didn't achieve your objecctives, so you lost.
Owen Perez
We lost? Last I checked almost all of Sup Forums were born years after the war ended.
Brandon Russell
When he says 'you' he is refering to your country, not actually you ;)
Thomas Moore
When the wiseman points at the sky, the retard looks at the finger.
America as a country, not you personally.
Ian Miller
Besides, the country will probably democratize in 25-30 years when most of the war generation is gone because young people in Vietnam have no real attachment to the VCP.
Colton Martin
>mfw the US fucking won
Asher Diaz
We lost in the short term, won in the long run because they now regard the US as an ally against Chinese aggression.
Dylan Walker
"Won"
Jayden Bailey
Sup, English teacher.
Lucas Miller
This is legitimately good b8, but it's done at American Power Hour, so it won't get as many hooked as it deserves.
Julian Thompson
If i had that massive ego in my body I would have shart myself
Wyatt Peterson
>There are people on this thread right now that actually think the Vietnam War was a win for the US
In all honesty, it was a draw at best
Cause you can't traumatize your soldiers like that and call it a win m8
Easton Rivera
Sure caused plenty of damage though. Even if you can't win, you can still make 'em bleed.
>generations of potato babies born because of Agent Orange >up to 40,000 Vietnamese killed by unexploded ordnance since 1975
Justin Turner
Yeah but mostly civilians, mighty US Rambo gunned down farmers and then report back to sarge that they're a Viet Cong
Daniel Cox
But I am not stating that you lose or that you win. I am just asking, if you think you win, what are your reasons to justify that. The consensus, at least here, is that it was an economical loss and a partial politica defeat, but i want to hear your rational arguments against it. So if you have them, correct that thought
Isaac Moore
Vietnam is "saving face" country and that's not good. Especially those living in Saigon is nothing but pretentious people.
