everyone uses it you fucking madman
But we do. VMWare is god tier.
Because KVM
Why the fuck would i need a computer inside a computer?
I use it you stupid fucking nigger.
because i cant use touchpad scrolling when using the vm in vmware
the problem does not exist in virtualbox
beside this, its superior in any way
>1111 MB on fresh boot
and I thought GNOME was bloated
honestly, just stop being a bitch and get Ubuntu already. it runs infinitely better than in a virtual machine.
that's GNOME you retard
not that's GNOME ala Ubuntu, out of the box GNOME takes around 650 MB, this is nearly double
...
That's officially more than Windows 8.1
all windows are bloat so thats not saying much
...
because I don't need it for anything
That's actually saying a lot
More bloated than bloat itself
>why is VMWare so based and why don't you use it Sup Forums?
What possible reason would I have to use it?
>what is it based on?
Why would I use it over Virtualbox?
cause virtualbox is better dummy
...
Sorry I use docker
>not running Windows inside vmware
And you'r saying that you don't use any type of virtualization? KVM, QEMU even fucking virtualbox
Because it costs money
>why is VMWare so based and why don't you use it Sup Forums?
Chinks own it now
KVM>*
it doesn't fucking work on linux distros. i use it on windows though, it's ok.
But I use vmware.
Let me guess, you're a CS student who just found out about virtualization and decided to make a thread about it? What next some guy on /3/ will make a thread about 3dmax, maya and blender too?
lolwut?
because parallels work better
Rhinoceros is my preferred modeler
Rhino is trash and used by people who can only work with Bézier curves but can't find these tools on blender or max/
explain this
Spot the virgin animator
QEMU-KVM is way better, add libvirt for more functionality.
This
>using a meme distro
I'm pretty sure everyone except the most autistic dumbass freetard here uses it.
Did you seriously think this was only a meme and nobody actually used it?
>tfw dual booting windongs 10 for gayman and Fedora with Kali running on VM
How to install the latest MacOS with it?
I have to compile bunch of iOS apps.
What is VMWare?
A kind of containerization for dinosaurs?
because I like the sad penguin in virtualbox
kvm > vmware
/thread
Depends. Infosec analysts can make a good document describing ESXi security features, can't do the same for KVM. Also it provides HA with migration tools, however just for the emulation purpose KVM is good.
KVM/QEMU > VMware / VirtualBox
So, why vmware is cooler than virtualbox?
Why would I want to install more than 1 GNU+Linux distro at a time?
I don't see the point.
Use a search engine, nigger
can't live assign usb devices, different usage types.
QEMU-KVM MASTERRACE
Xen
Correct.
You can assign a port to a passthrough though which would make that hotswappable to any USB device device.
Also Libvirt
>why don't you use it
VMware is non-free software.
Because I dedicated a separate machine to run my VMs on KVM and don't need to do this on my laptop anymore.
Can't run winblows in docker. Docker is very useful though.
won't let me swap a device between guest and host without changing usb ports, no shared folders, not portable between linux/windows.
I can passthrough a a usb 3.0 to pcie adapter to a virtualized OS like windows 7 for instance.
That leaves the whole usb hub dedicated to them like it was built into the computer.
This is also transparent to the host OS (arch for example) so I don't see what you mean by that?
You just need ntfs-3g on the host or a second partition with fat32/ext3
kek
I mean live assigning an usb device to the VM and then assigning it back to the host OS while the VM is still running. In VMWare/Virtualbox you can plug/unplug any usb device on the go.
Because it breaks after upgrading packages. And at least in Arch it required hack after hack to get it working, which depended on VMware's version.
But when it works, it's really good.
