Streets of Rage 2 and 3 have some fucking bangers
Inga Rasen could have been it's own techno single were it produced on something other than a Genesis soundchip
www.youtube.com/iBcg_Yune3U
the hylics ost is really neat
youtube.com
I fucked up my link but you get the idea
No
Can be enjoyed without context:
>Super Meat Boy
>Risk of Rain
>Bastion
>Duck Game (Chiptune, but not in the way you're thinking)
>VVVVVV (chiptune)
>Crypt of the Necrodancer
You should probably have context:
>Nuclear Throne
>The Binding of Isaac (flash)
Maybe Fez?
The Static Speaks my Name has some good drone music as a soundtrack that I listen to by itself
FFVII
...
Doshin the Giant
>Hotline Miami 1&2
Enjoyed the music way before I played the games, both excellent
That's because the music already existed before the game, except a few tracks.
Good luck trying to find something that's
>Not orchestral
>Not chiptune
>Not EDM
>Not dadrock
Probably Spore music would do it at some points. Brian Eno helped with composition.
I actually don't. What is that even supposed to be
morrowind soundtrack and skyrim soundtrack are amazing
oblivious soundtrack is okay
OFF ost by Alias Conrad Coldwood
Really good
Plenty of stuff from Mother 2.
Vagrant Story, it is a spectacular piece of art and it has one of the greatest ost ever made in videogames probably.

Every Silent Hill soundtrack.
No Katamari Damacy yet? It's almost as famous as the game itself. Doesn't even sound like a game soundtrack.
sims ost
Pretty much anything by Nobuo Uematsu. He's the Morricone of Video Game soundtracks
this shit bumps
would actually play @ a party if someone did a "remix" that just added bass hits
The original Guild Wars soundtrack was pretty great. Love me some Jeremy Soule
>no Vib Ribbon
I've never played the game but it's some god-tier wonky, feel good i don't even know what to call it
youtube.com
Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura had a pretty nice string soundtrack
My ninja :). Loved the whole we love katamari soundtrack as a kid and still love it to this day.
Payday
David Byrne's Fine Time Adventure
you heard the Distant Worlds albums?
Incredible stuff.
Music by New Order and Brian Eno
Following a sperg who treks on a journey of self expression and dealing with chronic paranoia
Metroid Prime's OST is one of my absolute favorites: youtube.com
>Nuclear Throne
my nigga
One of my favs. The game is amazing too
Anyone here listen to the UT99 soundtrack? I think it's great but I never see it mentioned. Playing bot matches with the music going in the background keeps me coming back every once in a while.

The Crash Bandicoot OSTs by Mothersbaugh and the Spyro the Dragon OST by Stewart Copeland.
god fucking damn it i wish this was a real game so badly
>ywn play a game where you're david byrne getting mugged in brooklyn and shouting uh-oh
>Skyrim soundtrack
>Better than Oblivion
Have you listened to more than just the main themes of both?
dark souls 3 OST is good but probably not what you're looking for
Amon Tobin has done some stuff
Floex have done some stuff
There's a dark ambient guy that does Forza, don't remember who
that's all I know
Halo, Martin O'Donnell is a brilliant composer
Autechre are under NDA for involvement in Metroid Prime's soundtrack, so I bet that's good. they probably didn't do jack shit on it though.
Final fantasy x has a really good ost
The rez soundtrack is good on its own desu. I prefer the arranged versions in the actual game to the album tracks.
Bloodborne has a pretty good soundtrack but it's a lot of orchestral stuff, and I'm not entirely sure if it works outside the game or not and I just can't tell
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
>ywn strike up slow awkward in-game dialogue with young Adelle Lutz as Age of Consent fades in
>ywn anxiously wait in a virtual airport listening to Music for Airplanes
>ywn exchange flirty banter with Tina Weymouth while Genius of Love plays in the distance
Just fucking kill me
Sonic 2 OST, Metropolis Zone is god-tier.
It's great music but a lot of it is better within the context of the game because of the nature of when it's used, and how it changes within the battle.
Ludwig's theme is great, but it's one of the best video game tracks ever in the context of the boss battle.
It's kinda like MGR except the music isn't shit outside of the game.
Seconding Fez. Listened to the soundtrack a lot before I got the game, and it definitely can stand on its own.
Always post this in these types of threads. Glad I didn't have to be the one to post it this time.

Stage 1 of Wily's castle from Mega Man 2 will always have a special place in my heart. I want it to be transformed into the hard rock banger that it is, but few things can capture it like the NES chip can.
Nier's OST is one of the best things I have ever heard in a game
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
Nier is a weird game. From a gameplay perspective and a technical perspective and from most perspectives it's absolute shit but the music and atmosphere and story put it into the stratosphere
Yes.
-Mirror's Edge
-Streets of Rage (especially the Boss themes)
-Mass Effect
-Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2
-Metroid. More or less all of them, but primarily Primes.
-Alice: Madness Returns
-Bastion
-Transistor
-FTL
-Deus Ex: Human Revolution
-Bioshock
-Chrono Trigger
-Sonic 1,2,3,Knuckles, etc.
-Legend of Zelda. Though this diminished after the Gamecube when they started preferring forgettable orchestral stuff.
-Unreal 1 and all the Unreal Tournaments.
-Zeno Clash
-A few tracks from Remember Me
Probably more that isn't coming to mind. I feel like an amnesia'd husk that only thinks it knows where it is and what it's doing half the time. Feels subpar, but fine enough.
Anime is the same way. Half my music, at least, is soundtracks.
youtube.com
This. It's good enough on its own, but in the context in which the song plays... oh my friggin god
Bomberman Hero
youtube.com
or anything by Tim Follin
youtube.com
Anything made by Andreas Waldetoft.
Both Jet Set Radio soundtracks are liquid gold.

Super Metroid (though it is much better with the atmosphere the game conveys)
Super Mario Galaxy

>Probably Spore music would do it at some points. Brian Eno helped with composition.

Xenogears is the alpha and omega
>tfw you really enjoyed Xenogears' story but you lost your save file and you don't remember where you left off on Disc 1 but you really don't want to slog through all the boring generic JRPG shit again
At least Nier is pretty to look at
FFXIII and XIII-2 have amazing OSTs
the original spyro trilogy music
youtube.com
it was even made by the police's drummer!
listen to that and tell me its not fucking awesome! the way it starts off all eerie and begins to build up...then BOOM rock riff
Might just be me, but I used to listen to the Cave Story soundtrack a lot before I ever played the game, and it was still pretty great.
youtube.com
I fucking love the OST to Majora's Mask, but that's probably heavily tied to my memories of the game. I wouldn't be able to rate it as a stand alone piece of music, I don't think.
xenogears has the most fitting music ever
this
youtu.be
Fav track from a game called The Getaway
Every MOTHER soundtrack
max payne soundtrack
heavy rain , ethan marsh theme
my negro
>Ctrl + F Sonic R
>not a single fucking result
holy shit Sup Forums is underaged
really love the Xenoblade soundtrack, though it's really even better in the context, but even without it it's pretty great.
Ans of course Earthbound, stating the obvious
Forgot about this game entirely. Playing as the velociraptor was interesting.
JSRF Soundtrack desu
