New internet

As you know after web 2.0 started things went to shit and now everyone can use the internet, we need a new internet away from the norms?
How would onion sites fair? since we are not doing illegal shit we can just migrate to there. Get away from all this bullshit and normalfags
I hope my message is getting through to you Anons. There was something about project Sup Forumsternet or something

Other urls found in this thread:

yahoo.co.jp/
khzae.net
twitter.com/NSFWRedditGif

We can't make it exclusive to imageboard users, We need something that would deter the normals away. Kind of like 2003 internet or 1997

New everyone from kids starting school to 90 year olds that can use the internet in matter of seconds. All because of smartphones which made it easier

There's already a new internet that's just like the early days of the normal internet. I'm not going to post about it on Sup Forums because this place is a hive of normies at this point.
If you're not on it already you probably deserve to be stuck here anyway.

hello there NSA
encryption is not the answer
obscurity is
good luck building a user base you want to be around though

an internet alone with yall faggots fuck no
i'll stay where the porn is

Prehaps fr**net?

Don't use technology to try and solve social problems. The real answer is to drive Microsoft, Apple, and Google out of business while simultaneously banning Chinese hardware and software of any kind from import. This will crash the normie web with no survivors.

Who here remembers using Yahoo when it had this design?

I agree but imageboards are *literally* web 2.0.
Forums are web 2.0.

Also Tor is just a CP and drug selling platform, nothing personnel.
It has nothing to do with smartphones

*raises hand*

I think this was from around the time they absorbed Excite, which was my default search engine at the time.

Oh no, the deal fell through. Seems I'm getting my history muddled. All I know is, Excite rapidly went from one of the best, to dogshit. I ended up on Yahoo somehow, that's all I know.

Society is all about compromise.

Just use gopher, no need for for/i2p/freenet

>just use goypher in your spoopy Internet
>no need for anonymity or encryption
>[rubbety rub rub]

If need privacy go for tor/etc you dumb, but if you want another internet, like the 1.0, gopher is literally the alternative that didn't took place.
>>>/hell/

reminder Japs have better internet

Anyone remember PENIX 2.0?

gopher is unencrypted, https is way superior

I agree with you, but is the only alternative that's not dark web

What about gopher + i2p? An "eephole":
gopher.khzae.i2p
(uses the stats.i2p jump service/subscription)

Note that if you try and connect over your HTTP proxy it will redirect you to an HTTP mirror. One awkward bit I haven't solved yet is that all "links" in Gopher are absolute, i.e. they contain a host and port part, so if you set up a standard tunnel assigned to localhost:5678 for example, the first "link" you click on will try and redirect you to whatever the Gopher server thinks is it's host:port instead. It's not too difficult to use something like iptables to map localhost:5678 to actualhost:actualport, but a custom I2P tunnel like the HTTP proxy (one tunnel handling multiple hidden services) would be better in future.

haha benis :DDDDD

Why don't you fork gopher? It seems a really nice idea

It must be simpler to add a gopherproxy tunnel type to I2P than to write a new Gopher protocol, gopher server, and gopher client, and alienate all the existing servers/clients. It'll just take some experimenting since there's not a lot of resources on such a thing (I don't know any existing gopher-to-gopher proxy servers), although clients like Lynx do have a gopher_proxy variable apparently for just such an occasion.

These two can (sort of) also be combined:
khzae.net (cert is self-signed atm)

From the client's perspective this is just a plain old HTTPS site. But the server owner maintains a Gopher site, with the simple "Web 1.0"-ish structure built-in. The only downside is you aren't taking advantage of the leaner Gopher protocol when you want privacy, although those unconcerned with privacy can still connect over the Gopher protocol if they want.

>web 2.0

Fuck off with your dumb buzzwords normie.

Wheres yahoo chat?

Tor is alleged to be either compromised or too easy to compromise if you aren't completely autistic with every single action you take. Also it's too slow. Distributed networks can, in theory, actually be much faster than the current architecture, if we can leverage mesh networking effectively. First problem is getting enough devices online to make that happen. But staying on the current infrastructure is a bottleneck.
i2p has fewer known exploited people but it's also less popular, and you can't know if a site is down just because you can't access it, which is a nuisance. At least you can torrent on it though. Could be a way to distribute sites somehow.
Speaking of which, it's important to have a system for network-wide encrypted distribution of sites to parry 2 issues which can be used to pressure site admins into cooperating to track their users: 1- cost of operations 2- threat of termination.
Zeronet is not an option because you need full js to use it and anyone can modify their post anytime to bypass the site's input validation and inject malicious js, plus you're automatically tracked by anyone as soon as you post anything on any site. That tracking is irrevocable and works across all sites, unless you spend months generating random ids and are autistic enough to correctly manage them for the next 2 days at which point you have to spend more months generating more ids.
urbit is a trivial for-profit fully centralized joke.
never tried netsukuku.
gnunet and freenet are way too slow but have the right ideas.
ipfs can't do dynamic content.

I strongly believe that without distribution the same issues as the current web will just repeat.
There also needs to be a robust distributed moderation scheme. Perhaps nntp-overchan-like federation is good enough though.

Bump desu senpai

>consumerism and tech support threads, which are against the board rules, are up 24/7 and reach bump limit in hours
>actual threads don't reach 50 posts before dying
nu/g/ everybody!

Sad!

This guy is kinda right. But it isn't exactly smartphones it's just the demographic.

Once Internet was a hobby. It required time and skill to work through it. But it was fun to those who invested the time. Now it's just accessible because it "just werks" and thus everyone can get onto here. It has become so easy that people just come here to troll and pass the time.
The example doesn't exactly fit but I think Internet was what Lockpicking is right now.
A hobby that requires time and effort. And thus is respected. Hell try searching for Lockpicking videos and Youtube and reading the comments. They're supposed to be the most cancerous place and yet they're quite mature.

It's the attitude I guess. But whatever those were my two shits. I don't think I'm any different. Once I used to reinstall XP for fun. Now I haven't reinstalled Windows in years. And haven't tried any new OS because of my other studies etc.

ipfs

It's a waste of time.
People will post cp and other weird shit. It will end up as another honeypot for fbi and no good content will be posted.
Exactly like EVERY alternative currently available.

Tell me what to search for to get out of this ride.

You can't, he is lying.

People post cp on reddit and Sup Forums as well, yet the FBI hasn't raided reddit or Sup Forums. Why? Because they have some form of content blocking in place against these, even if they're post-fact instead of pre-fact (namely, moderation).
As for networks on the whole, I don't see the internet being brought down by the us government, do you?

a circlejerk website on an anonymous network is exactly like telling pedos to come.
Just find irc/discord channels with people with the same interests as you.

>banning pedos is the same as inviting pedos goy
>anonymous free speech platforms are the same as circlejerks goy
>just use the platforms that require your full public identity so that you can be banned for wrongthink and we can plant cp on your computer goy
t. NSA

Man this is how the dark web looks like now lol

Fuck.
