I use tinc because it's relatively easy to add/remove servers to if that i have root shell access to. I don't need a whole blown PKI for it which is nice, but also a limiting factor.

One thing thats always stuck in my mind when I think of VPNs. These people are businesses, and would they really risk having their business brought down, or wrecked by government agencies, just for the sake of turning over the details of a subscriber, and not being hassled anymore. VPNs are bullshit they would sacrifice you any day to save their business. They log even if they say they don`t.
