/gg/ - Guitar & Bass General
I don't know what to think about that guitar, but I'm probably not cool enough to play it.
It looks like alienware made it or something
youtube.com
Meant for people who look like this.
Fucking djent fags
what is /gg/s opinion on artificial harmonics / pinch harmonics?
just stumbled upon this technique while trying to write a rock blues solo, coming down from a full step bend leading to a pull off / hammer on. the pinch harmonic was on the bend. I thought it sounded pretty good so I have spent the last 20 minutes getting it down.
i like it there but feel like it could be heavily overused.
Hey guys. Autism
is this fake? fretting at 2:17 and some of the fingerpicking a little after
no, he just changes positions mid phrase
>ibanezes are for stylish twinks now
Damn. Can fat neckbeards still use them?
They can, they just won't look as good using them. Maybe some other Iron Labels that aren't like that colourful.
As a stylish twink I can confirm Ibanez make aesthetically pleasing guitars for me.
That sucked ass. And properly intonate your guitar.
Holy shit, quit.
guys, stop fighting and post dream guitars.
>pic related
Good shit. Can add a lot of flavour to your playing.
not so much a dream guitar as I'm fine with what I have but I like this
Nigger what are you doing?
>Wanting a Goatse Les Paul
Objectively nice.
One day guys.
If /gg/ is the only reason you even post on Sup Forums anymore, reply with the pedal you want the most and "aaayyyyy"
Is your name backwards like that guitar?
Yeah I would never consider that fake, changing positions is normal and the fingerpicking looks fine to me, strongly doubt it's fake.
left handed guitars make me uncomfortable
I like this
Not a pedal but aaayyyyy
No, my trip is just "essence" written phonetically.
Precision style right handed basses look wrong to me, I just got used to left-handed shit.
aaayyyyy
only LP i'd buy
its a standard Golden Pearl LP
aesthetically it is soft. very comfy
literally all i would ever need in one guitar
aayyyy
>wanting a piss coloured telecaster
I'd had an 08 Goldtop that was similar in that it was a more subdued gold. Good shit.
I want to suffer from crippling back pain for the rest of my life.
I feel this on a spiritual level
>Not wanting a V
Get your shit together, /GG/,
...
disgusting
aaayyyyy
Got this today, rate?
and that's why i play jags/jms
That looks nice, but this is probably the only LP I'd consider buying.
less blurry pic? also checked
How's the DeVille? Any idea how it compares to the Hot Rod Deluxe?
flame finish and f-holes are kinda tacky in my eyes
so this arrived today :-)
It's so damn loud, lol. My first real amp and electric guitar anyways. I don't remember playing on a Hot Rod Deluxe in the past but I'd assume this DeVille holds its own very well enough. 2 channels and it came with a footswitch. The amp has a really nice warm tone to it. Definitely love this combo.
You must be 18 and above to post on this board.
dear christ what is that monstrosity on the bed
stratocoustic
i feel sick
yeah, ive never played one but i doubt they sound that great. theres a tele version too.
nice
You guys I have a question, I'm going to sand the neck for the first time. What product should I use to seal it when I'm done? I see a lot of people, recommend Tru oil or shellac. Are these fine or is there a better alternative?
tru oil or tung oil
rats are pretty cheap user, you should pull the trigger
>tfw you got a DS1 instead of a RAT
Real deal best guitar
ayyyy
>favorite power moves while performing
accidentally turning off the wah during a solo
...
Spinning the guitar around my back and forgetting that I don't have straplocks
looks like Koyuki's. I love my Tele but I love that mine has a 6 saddle bridge!
is this bait? JMs are way heavier than Teles and of course Jags are lighter, they're much smaller guitars.
you only do that if you sand down to the bare wood. I leave a tiny satin layer of finish so no sealant required.
I want a pedal, I buy it
I post on /prod/ too sometimes
you know he's referring to specifically the rosewood tele which is way more heavy than a standard tele
>JMs are way heavier than Teles
depends on the model. the CPs are not heavy and i imagine some of the squier ones aren't either.
George's all rosewood Tele is heavy as shit, my dude.
I've no idea why, but I have a major hard on for a Tea burst explorer.
Switching to the neck pickup for a solo and forgetting that I have the neck volume on mute
>all rosewood
well, yeah. Not exactly the average Tele, is it?
I've only ever heard my bassist complain about the weight of a guitar, but she's a woman.
Pics or it's a dude
well, so am I. london london blah blah blah
well it has a bigsby so that's good but why a LP that's not a LP or a Gretch thats not an archtop for that matter.
Not sure what kind of guitar I want, but here's current guitar.
...
Nigger, basses are much heavier than guitars.
she doesnt even look that small and shes complaining about the weight of a cheap ibanez?
kek
god, you sound just like her
A fellow gibsonfag? Either way, that's a gorgeous lookin guitar.
youtube.com
I found this insane rockabilly song
the leads are fucking nuts and theres all these cartoonish sound effects stuck in
super weird
Can any recommend a good, cheap 1x12?
I'm looking at pic related which I can find for under $200 used.
I'm on a very tight budget and I really want a simple, bigger, louder amp than my current 1x8 practice amp.
Why is it so hard to find a band /gg/?
Are you a regular? Because if so, never state your gender again pls qt. :3
I'm a girl too user
Because """""musicians""""" are generally dumb drug abusers who don't practice enough to get good
nobody cares if you're a girl, post some sick guitars
I'm a socially awkward nervous wreck and I suck at meeting people.
my TVL JM is way lighter than my CV Tele
I've read two comments about pine CV teles
1. Its so light
2. Its so fucking heavy
Guess theres a lot of variation. I have mine in bits and every time I pick up the body off the shelf its on I'm amazed at how much it weighs.
I know that feel on a daily basis ;_;
Would have a family by now if I didn't.
FAT
awww yeah
Don't be mean user, we have girls in attendance.
Let this thread be a calm little hugbox.
>calling a fatty fat is insulting to women somehow
what
this is not a hugbox
If I could have a custom dream guitar, it would probably look like this.
agreed. lets all chill and enjoy a common hobby or profession.
>pic related, dream instrument
I ussually like v´s but idk that one.
Rhoads models are nice too
It was obviously relevant to the conversation, don't throw a shitfit.
I thought pine was supposed to be light.
The weight of my swamp ash Tele is about what I expected. I haven't weighed it but it's a lot lighter than my shit Jazzmaster was. Seems a tad heavier than the average Strat, though.
Pretty much any rhoads model also
Can anyone explain "decking" a strat's trem? Do you literally just screw the claw screws in until the baseplate hits the body of the guitar?
pine is light
alder is the best weight though
if you dont mind the 2x12 size all those 80s peavey combos are loud and really rock solid like the renown/classic/heritage/chorus etc. easy to find one around the 200 mark
