How do I change the board links on top of every page, using either Sup Forums X or OneeChan?
I switched from AppChan X and I can't really find it, but I'm not interested in /c/ or /k/ or /jp/ or whatever
...
This is Sup Forums x and what you want is custom board navigation.
Whoops
CPAP is technology right?
Anyone use Sleepyhead to manage their CPAP data?
Yes, though often Windows will just show the same image on both. Push Windows key+P and select extend. Then you probably want to head to settings->system->display and tell it how they're physically arranged so the mouse teleports from one screen to the other in a sensible way.
Hush. Don't tell everyone the secret.
In Chrome when I try to go to a t.co link I get a "server DNS address could not be found" message even though I know the link is good and I have no problems using the browser normally. When I search for answers I find some info about how to change my DNS settings. One option is to "Configure your network settings to use Google Public DNS" Is this some sort of botnet scam to get me to use their shit? Why would Chrome not go to the link and then the option is to use their DNS? I'm not really aware of DNS stuff. What are my best configuration options? What's a good way to learn more about DNS settings?
Google Public DNS IP addresses
The Google Public DNS IP addresses (IPv4) are as follows:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
The Google Public DNS IPv6 addresses are as follows:
2001:4860:4860::8888
2001:4860:4860::8844
How do I UNpartition/unshrink a HDD? I tried to install a server OS and somehow shit went wrong and when I go into Disk Management, the HDD I tried to install too is kinda all weird, tons of small partitions and is far less in size than what the actual size is (few MB/GB when the HDD is like at least 1TB.)
is there a point to glass screen protectors on gorilla glass?
you might have hidden partitions like EFI or something. try using diskpart to manage the partitions
My main email is my actual name, am I safe? What should I do? I have a bunch of alts, should I delete them?
can a faulty gpu alone cause a pc to not start at all?
your name will be publicly available no matter what pretty much
I wouldn't worry about it unless you give it to something like cheerioporn.ru.biz.jp
Is there a way to convert a USB thumb drive to an e-token?
I just need one for testing purposes nothing mission critical
And google is not being useful
Should I never get a credit card and if I need to get something online should I instead by prepaid Visa cards from the store instead?
where can i find a flat gtk3 theme that uses the highlight color i set with gtk-theme-config
do you have a job? a lease? a loan? registered to vote?
your name is out there
Yes.
For what purpose? Some systems need special token devices, like RSA keys that have an embedded key that is never let outside the device; a USB stick cannot be used for this. Other systems just need a little key file, and a USB stick will work for these.
I just got a job, I'm living with someone so my name wont be tied to anything so I use a PO box sometimes if needed, and yeah I'm registered to vote so I'm fucked anyway.
>My main email is my actual name, am I safe? What should I do? I have a bunch of alts, should I delete them?
Safe from WHAT? Don't use that primary email or alts that are 'connected' to it for things you don't want to associate your name to.
Buying a GPU from Amazon to be shipped to your home? Use a credit card with your name. It will build your credit score.
Buying porn? Buying from a shady seller? Use a prepaid "gift" credit card that says like "Valued Customer" on it, preferably from those mall kiosks where you hand them cash and they hand you the card. The porn site won't be able to tell who you are unless you tell them, and shady sellers won't be able to charge you more than you put on the card.

I did embarrassing things several years ago when I was 13 and just don't want to be lynched for it
Locked myself out of my Windows 8 phone that has my ex-gf's nudes on it. Someone help please...
>I did embarrassing things several years ago when I was 13
not him but somehow i don't believe that you're actually 18yo or older
no need to confirm or deny it
All depends what you want it to be secure against. Since it's a USB stick, you have to keep in mind that anything you put on it can be read or modified by malware on the computer it's attached to, and easily cloned by anyone given 2 minutes alone with it.
If you want something a little more secure, you can rig something with a smartphone. For instance Google Authenticator is a shared key system that generates time-keyed one-time passwords.
Or you could show a QR code that the user uses a special app to scan, the app gets a time-keyed, signed nonce from it, verifies it's legit and current using the server's public key, signs it with its own private key, and sends that back to the server (using its connection) which can verify it's signed by the right phone, and tell the computer to let you in.
If you're 18+ you should consider a legal name change if it's something that serious but not something illegal.
relax dude it's not a big deal
everyone did stupid shit at 13
noko
Sure. Gorilla is like a base standard for not being super shitty, but it's still pretty easy to fuck up.
What antivirus should I get for Windows 10? I just want something else so that all the built in laggy bullshit gets disabled without me doing a bunch of bullshit registry stuff. I have a Ryzen 1600X and I still have 30s of startup lag after I hit the desktop because of the built in shit.
>I have a Ryzen 1600X and I still have 30s of startup lag
How the hell did you manage that? The rest of us are looking at under 15 seconds on modern hardware, without disabling stuff. Did you fall for the no-SSD meme?
Heroku dyno metrics are confusing to me.
Are there any simple rules of thumb for when to consider scaling up or switching to a beefier dyno other than memory errors?
It might just feel like 30s, I haven't measured. It's fucking too much though. Only thing I have run at startup is Stardock's Fences, and the second I can see my Start bar I launch Firefox and start typing away in the URL bar. I. t. g. o. e. s. o. n. e. l. e. t. t. e. r. a. t. a. t. i. m. e. I've also checked Chrome to confirm it's not Firefox.
I was reading an article about the lostprophets singer and all his bullshit and it made me curious cos he encrypted that 27tb of shit he had, but police just simply decrypted it.
Was he using shitty encryption olr is there really no point in encryption?
How to find apps for an old version of android? Id like to repurpose my old phone wich has android 2.3
it's unlikely he was using a feasibly crackable encryption algorithm in this day and age.
He probably had the password written on a post it or something.
It might be Fences making it slow; or some tweaks you did gimped it.
I have a shit laptop with latest Win10, a similarly empty autostart list, and no bloat removal or optimization other than Spybot Antibeacon and some of what can be switched off in GUI. It has specs that your 1600X system should easily blow past:
>Celeron N3350 (6 watt CPU lol)
>4 GB RAM
>64 GB eMMC "SSD" that barely breaks 100 MB/s linear read
I get about 20 seconds from power button to desktop with fast boot, 30 seconds with no fastboot. Chromium is a little laggy as it loads its start page, which takes like 5 seconds probably due to crappy CPU, but it does that no matter how long I wait after it boots.
Thanks m8
Unless you've changed it, your computer's DNS settings were sent to it by your router through DHCP when you last connected to it. The setting should generally be one of the following:
- your ISP's DNS server
- your router's address, if it supports DNS forwarding/caching (usually 192.168.0.1)
- or a public DNS like 8.8.8.8, if you've manually changed it on your computer or router.
Using Google public DNS will essentially let them see which domain names you visit, that's all. Many people consider that a fair tradeoff since it's often faster and more reliable than your ISP's DNS.
On second thought, if he was using the same encryption over what would presumably be a long, long time to accumulate 27tb, with no mechanism for rate limiting attempts and they were lucky enough that he was using a low entropy password, it could be done pretty quick
It's probably not worth the trouble, especially because it sounds like you don't have any ideas for what to repurpose it for. Calls and texts and Messenger Lite should work no problem, if you just want to use it as a phone.
In procmon, why are some processes capitalized and some aren't?
For example, there are many explorer proceses from C:\Windows\Explorer.EXE
and also many from C:\Windows\explorer.exe.
The only difference is the command line arguments in the not-capizalized one. What causes this?
Look on sites like Aptoide or APKPure that let you choose a version to download instead of force-feeding you the latest.
Is the backup solution within Windows 10 good enough for backups?
Is there a way to get back the "View Image" button in Google Images after Google removed it?
Can Sup Forums ban people using imei/meid? There's a really bad shitposter in a general I visit that most likely uses a phone or vpn
did you even search? there's already chrome and firefox extensions for it
no, if web browsers exposed that it'd be pretty bad
>did you even search?
I was too lazy to; my bad. I wonder if Google is going to re-implement the button. If the only reason they killed it is because of Getty Images suing them, I'm sure they could add an exception for all images from Getty Images.
Are there any good alternatives to ublock origin with similar or greater functionality?
I'm having this extremely weird issue in Waterfox where activating ublock origin (even with no active custom or other filters) breaks a whole fuckton of websites, like sometimes it loads at first in plain text but then when you hit F5 or do anything else the whole page just goes blank... What could even cause this? Note that i've also tried reinstalling ublock origin but whenever the fucking thing is active it breaks the sites again completely.
What's extremely weird is that it worked properly after importing from firefox but after adding one or two custom filters in Waterfox it started causing this all of a sudden... Guess i'll have to try and contact the ublock devs if i want to keep using it in WF
Hey buds.
I have a question.
uTorrent takes like 4 minutes to open up now and it gets laggy with each torrent. I have about 1k seeding and I know that's the problem, but jesus.
I'm using 2.2.1, it's so fucking laggy it's hard to want to ever use it again.
I really don't want to use another client though, they annoy me to shit for some reason everytime I try to migrate. Mostly because the way I organize my torrents (music is Band\Album, like most sane people, and most torrents are Band - Album without nested folders ofc, so I like being able to quickly flip the - into a \, if that makes sense.
utorrent, appdata, and windows are all on an SSD (Samsung evo 840) as well.
I'm putting this in /sqt/ because I feel like i'm missing something incredibly obvious.
Why isn't youtube-dl.exe not working on my windows desktop? I have python. I have that other package C++ package thing installed. I did not place it in system32.
When i run it, the command window opens for half a second spits out a message and closes too quickly for me to read it. I have tried compatibility modes and run as admin.
>I feel like i'm missing something incredibly obvious.
youtube-dl is a CLI application
right that was stupid
I use it regularly in a terminal on linux and for whatever reason i expected there to be a gui on windows
I haven't used it in a while but youtube-dl won't let me download lewd videos from tumblr anymore, anyone know what to do? Windows version
How do i get a ISO9001 certification for my company???
have you updated it?
Yes
I get "could not make head request" and then it can't download it
CommonSense 2018
They just released a new version.
My external HDD have these files, what do?
Is it a virus? Could an antivirus like Avast solve it?
I really don't want to format it, I have +150 GBs saved on it :'(
How many accounts are actually hacked? People go to me and say their YouTube or Steam account was hacked but the only thing I can think of is them being brainlets and getting phished or keylogged
When I turn on my Pentium 4 PC it does this. Any help?
make sure you have tls 1.1 and tls 1.2 enabled in control panel -> internet options -> advanced
Have you tried hooking it up to another monitor? Looks like your backlight's giving out.
fat32? looks like your toc is fucked.
Should I bother using something like Defraggler for defragging or is the built in Windows one good enough? Is the former just placebo shit?
Monitor is fine, VGA cable is fine, both work with a different PC. Am actually using monitor right now.
How do I remove this cable? I need to open up my laptop to replace a dead cpu fan, but to open it all the way this must be removed first.
Pull those tabs back gently with a flathead or your finger.
Try another monitor?
Add/remove video card?
Pretty sure my BIOS is infected, why I believe it is so is irrelevant, just need help here. I'm afraid I'd fuck up my PC by opening it as some suggest, updating it doesn't work for some reason, what do I do?
Ive just got a new job as a software developer and I was told that sometimes I will have to work from home. And my owning a 15'' laptop without a monitor became quite a pain in the ass cause 60% of the time Im just alttabbing between documentation and the sc. Could anyone recommend me 200$
On plugging in a flash drive, my mouse and keyboard LEDs went black and the devices stopped functioning. On shutting down and restarting, I found that they both still work in BIOS, but on windows 10 booting up the leds turn back off and they stop responding once again. As it stands I can't log in to windows to start in safe mode, and I apparently can't do that from BIOS. I don't have another keyboard or mouse to plug in, so I'm at an impasse as to what to do from here.
I don't really need one for it's ability to stop viruses, I need one because then Windows will stop either launching all the Windows Defender bullshit, or stop asking me to reenable it. Most of the stuff I'm finding online about my startup lag is Windows Defender. But I might as well get a good one if I'm going to get one.
what happens if you boot into some windows setup? If you can use the mouse/keyboard there try using system restore to roll back to an earlier restore point.
Using motherboard graphics right now, don't have a PCI/AGP video card.
Different monitor, same results.
>Site I frequently visit started to use HTTPS
>the implementation of TLS 1.2 is so broken the site barely work
>modifying security.tls.version.max to use 1.1 solve it
That can't be safe, so is there a way to make firefox uses TLS 1.1 on certain site?
I'll try that in the morning. Honestly, I've been googling and fucking around in BIOS trying to find a magical "Start in sage mode" button that isn't there, and it's 4:30am. Thank you for the suggestion, but my brain is too fried to do anything more tonight.
What's the best Cost vs Performance Xeon processor for a home server?
When using a VPN service to improve my connection to another continent, should I use a server close to me or close to the servers I want to connect to? e.g. London -> pick London vpn server -> battle.net US east vs London -> pick US east vpn server -> battle.net US east
what is the server for? I dont think that it would require any features a xeon has that another sku wouldnt have for a home server
My laptop was turned off at 0% charge for 1-2 weeks. How much would this have affected the battery's lifespan?
You mean you drained it daily from 100 to 0 % for 1 - 2 weeks every day, or what?
I turned it off about 3.5 weeks ago at ~50%, I assume it drained to 0% within 2 weeks and was at 0% for the rest of the time.
Most of my home systems are still on ivy bridge shit.Is there any news of bios and cpu patches for these old systems? Or am I shit out of luck? How can I best protect myself in this case since even the os updates are not enough.
I refuse to upgrade to the current gen shit since they're still vulnerable.
Forgot to mention that I'm talking about meltdown and spectre.
Need help understanding where the equation directly below the text that reads, "then, on the average, it takes" came from. The last row of equations and then the first one. Very lost.

Yes, I know this is a normie question but I'll ask anyway:
I tried getting back into snapchat a while ago after a long break from it but since then I had rooted my phone and unrooted it again. Every time I try to log in on my phone it now says "login failed". Login works on other phones so I'm pretty sure it's to do with some root files left over that snapchat can somehow detect.
Because my device is pretty obscure (Xperia E4G), the only root method I've found to work is some shitty botnet kingroot that installs a shit tonne of malware along with it, so if there's a way to resolve this without re-rooting my phone I'd much prefer that option.
I'm running android 4.4.4 by the way.
>inb4 "using snapchat"
>inb4 "you're better off without it"
>inb4 "reddit spacing"
Thanks
Is one case fan in the back blowing out air good enough if I don't OC or mine coins or some shit like this?
Doesn't matter. Laptop batteries don't degrade when they're at 0%. Laptop batteries only degrade when you load them to 100% and then unload to 0% and back again and again and again. That's what kills the battery.
Welp, sleep failed me so I got up and tried to restore from a backup point made on the 12th, way before this happened, and the restore failed for...some fucking reason. Trying to see if I can start in safe mode from the installation drive I dug up from my closet.
Also, confirmed that this is a problem with keyboards and mice in general. Tried to plug in the old logitech POS from my 15 year old dell shitpile sitting in a box in the crawlspace, and confirmed it did work on my laptop, but not on my desktop pc.
So...What the fuck is going on here?
>not having a PS/2 keyboard
Now do you understand why USB is a shit port for critical input devices?
Thank u, will do. Problem is that I’m on Lenovo and it won’t find updates for my version
After 'upgrading' to windows 10, my dad's laptop now has excruciatingly slow usb write speeds. Like, it's surreal.
I tried copying a small folder of photos to an external, and it started at 2 MB/s, then dropped *immediately* to
>yet another "* windows 10 and now * broken"
you know what you have to do, user
Nigga I have DIN keyboard.
>2012
just buy a new laptop goy, they're not meant to last more than 3 years :^)
