crowd looks so confused about what's happening

>noah saying bitch on live tv
>dave's screaming
>their goofy voices
>dave's dancing
10/10

you're allowed to say bitch

Cringey whiteness.

simply epic, if i do say so myself

Dave sounds too off-beat in the chorus

it just seems out of character for him to curse so for him to do it at all let alone on tv i thought it was cute leave me alone

anyone else think it looks awkward for them to be standing in a row

when does he say bitch¿

wait, he says bitch in the song?

i think user's just dumb and mishearing 'bridge'

Who the fuck is drumming?

not officially but he changes bridge in "where the bridge that's gonna take me home" to bitch he's done it a few times now. it's easier to hear in this video youtu.be/RETdcEYbgX4 @ 2:18
rude

ya ur dumb and mishearing 'bridge'

just sounds like "bridge" to me albeit in a very squeaky delivery

This is so awful. I have no faith in this place anymore.

wow this was fucking terrible

The old fucks in the audience probably felt like they were in a bad dream, kek.

I liked the new album a lot but they definitely aren't the greatest live performers.

I knew they would do Floridada and I knew it would be shit. The track is great but it's awful live.

When are they gonna change the live set list up? I want to see them live, but I don't want a set that consists almost solely of Painting With songs.

Why the fuck do bands like this do live shows

It doesn't work

Jeremy Hyman, dudes a beast

>they definitely aren't the greatest live performers
how new are you

The Centipede Hz tour was phenomenal, guys.

...

I love Animal Collective but god they're bad live.

I ain't.
They definitely haven't ever been excellent at live performances but it seems PW lends itself especially badly to being played live.
Or maybe just because they're getting older.
Maybe both.

>They definitely haven't ever been excellent at live performances
Christ stop pretending like you aren't a redditor who started listening to AC post-CHz

youtube.com/watch?v=HWlHtiF0IN0

Their Dead worship isn't for nothing

I thought this video was a little rough but when I actually saw them live they milled it, maybe it's a mixing issue?

Avey definitely fucks up on the chorus though, no denying that

Again CHz and also Hollinndagain stuff was great live.

You are right that PW isn't particularly good for live shows. It honestly takes a guitar for them to really get into a live performance.

#gottem

Like I said.
They've never been excellent.
That's an alright performance, one of their better ones.
But still it isn't amazing.

The whole thing that makes these performances is Panda on drums and Avey with a guitar and now they do neither of these things in favor of having three people play synths.

pls show me an example of an 'amazing' performance

not him buy

>not him
so why are you responding to me

for serious discussions

I don't care about your opinions

edgy

Not any of the three, but it's not helpful to post another example of Animal Collective performing live, because the original point was that that guy believed Animal Collective didn't have any "great" performances.

Until that guy posts his opinion on that, nothing has changed, but even then, he could still believe it to be "alright" and not "great", which means he still needs to post a "great performance".

I'll give you a couple examples my man.

First one
youtube.com/watch?v=6SFNW5F8K9Y

Shit quality on this recording but the performance itself is still good.
youtube.com/watch?v=olmueHn7_L4

Solo essentially here, but still really good.
youtube.com/watch?v=dtmQpRpzOZw

this

So should AC incorporate more guitar solos into their music? Is that how you create an amazing performance?

the fuck are yall talking about... no good live performances

you've obviously been listening to animal collective for about three weeks. hahahhaa oh i just saw your other post. jesus. you seem boring

The last one doesn't even have a guitar man.

Though that being said, as the other guy pointed out, the AC performances where they are on guitars are much better then their other ones without them.

I think it is certainly possible to have great performances without guitar, or guitar solo's for that matter.
But, the way a guitar is played, compared to say, synths, allows for a much more intimate, and thus emotional performance which I think is part of where great music comes from in a live, non sterile setting.

See
I've been called worse then boring. I've listened to AnCo since about 2010, more or less when I started coming here. Not that it really matters.

this song does not translate into live performance
they should of done golden gal

fuck, they need to start making music like this again. this fully electronic sound they've been going for just doesn't compare to their earlier work.

Went to a live show couple o months back on their Painting With tour. Show was absolutely great until the last song, which was FloriDaDa.

For some reason FloriDaDa sucks live. Funny thing is, everyone in the venue started freaking out dancing when that song started playing.

Floridada is the hit single, man. Typical crowd reaction.

Finishing with it is pretty lame, just like if they finished with My Girls.

this made me appreciate the song, the band, and possibly the album a lot more

very good performance

still wish they'd quit making pop songs though

Who here has even seen the PW tour? It might not be their best live show ever but it's full of energy and really fun. And they did a really good job making the set list flow well despite the fact that it was mostly PW stuff that's heavily electronic. I thought most of their set sounded better than the studio version

>still wish they'd quit making pop songs though

They've been making pop songs for their entire career.

it seems really easy for them to get off key when singing that fast back and forth...its a really good song but they kind of fucked themselves over making the vocals that way

I don't think it would have to suck live. They just turn their instruments way down for some reason and all you can hear is vocals and drums, which sounds interesting but not that good.
