viable desu

60s > 90s > 70s > 10s > 00s > 80s

80s should be between 00s and 10s and 60s above 10s

bretty gud
just on personal preference:
90s>60s>70s>00s>80s>10s

60s > 80s > 50s > 90s > 70s > 00s > 10s

this is the best decade of music and its only getting better

this board is 18+

80s > 70s > 60s > 10s > 90s > 00s

70s > 80s > 60s > 90s > 10s > 00s > 50s

70s > 80s > 00s > 90s > 60s > 10s (so far) > 50s

I'm not acclimated with enough earlier than that to place a whole decade.

fucking plebs

Classical > Modern > Baroque > Medieval > Renaissance > Romantic > Postmodern

10s>00s>90s>80s>60s>70s>50s

the 80s gets too much flack on here

90s > 00s > 80s = 70s > 60s > 10s

what does that have to do with me?

Give me some reasons why it shouldn't that aren't the NY experimental scene.

Millenials have dog shit taste.

70s > 90s > 80s > 60s > 00s > 10s

Twiddly keyboards ruined the 80s

90s>60s>70s>80s>10s>00s

Punk, house, hip-hop (especially second half of the 80s), thrash metal, some of the weirder new wave bands like Devo and Talking Heads

uh....uh....synthpop and some other stuff

this, post-punk was the best then

Case and point.

see

70s > 60s > 80s > 90s > 10s > 00s

ok but punk is a garbage genre (unless you're talking post punk) and the house and hip hop of the 80's is objectively inferior to the 90's. like caveman vs modern man

tom waits

...

it should definitely be in the top 3 decades from the 60s to 10s
the 80's is the golden age of pop imo. the 90's is come close when it comes to pop

all depends on the genre

no decade is the best when it comes to all of music

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
fair point but really all I've seen so far are Tom Waits, thrash metal, and new wave (which was very limited)
it's still super limited

shieet

This is correct

holy SHIT you have bad taste

I'm not a millennial.

>but punk is a garbage genre
opinion discarded

it's literally a genre based around being untalented hacks in a garage you piece of shit

You sure sound like one.

90s >the rest

post-hardcore and post-punk

Reminder that if your favourite bands are Oasis, Coldplay and Muse, they would literally not exist without The Smiths.
Also reminder that you are a fucking pleb.

Name 5 "great" punk bands from the 80s (not the 70s) please.

>if your favourite bands are Oasis, Coldplay and Muse,
jesus christ is this supposed to be an ideal situation? kill yourself kid

is this Montie without a trip?

whoops meant this
I'm not a millennial but I am a dumbass.

it's still not enough to be better than any other decade man

Reasonable

This question wasn't wether or not the 80s is better than the 90s but if the 80s gets too much flack.
And there is some great hip-hop and house music from the 80s.

70s>90s>60s>00s>80s>10s

Post best album of the decade so far

90s > chocolate milk

90s>80s>00s>70s>60s>10s

I could never choose between 70s or 90s, they're easily the best 2

wrong

80s > 70s > 60s > 90s > 10s > 00s

nothing is better than chocolate milk

Nobody thinks zero good music came out of the 80's, just that relative to every other it wasn't a lot.

OP here. They're pretty equal for me. I switched it twice before posting. Depends on my mood.
>mah niggah

more good music came out in the 80s than the 00s and 10s combined

Wings are better than chocolate milk.

>implying this means they can't make good music

Discharge
Rudimentary Peni
Subhumans
Crass
Flux

How many chords can they play?

70's(most innovative, particularly in rock) > 80's (innovative in industrial and noise among other things) > 60's (late 60's brought some of the most influential innovations ever, but the early and mid-60's were rather dull) > 90's > 00's > 10's (all of these by no means were NOT innovative and creative, and I think there is no bad decade for music, but a lot of music(particularly popular music) is becoming less pioneering and more a result of others' influences)

I think we've run out of innovation...our thinking has become so creative and unrestricted that there's no way to innovate anymore. However, I think advancing technology will allow new innovation that comes with new computers.

Indeterminacy is expanding with the further development of computers with higher math power...that's about it.

90s > 70s > 60s > 10s > 00s > 80s

good job proving your assertion bud :^)

>early and mid-60's were rather dull
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

80s>70s>90s>10s>>>>>>>>>>>>s

he's right though, aside from some jazz

I'd put it

90s > 70s > 80s > 00s > 60s > 10s

>tfw you realize you share this board with people who wont listen to anything before 1960 and think of themselves as patrician

you already did senpai

nobody said they were patrician itt

>aside from some jazz
dude, jazz is literaly the most relevant thing to happen in the 60s, what are you talking about?
And the best of jazz usually comes from the early-mid 60s. It might be dull for pop or rock music, but not for jazz and traditional music.

That's what I said

if you're actually a gen x'er and on this board kill yourself

>old people can't like music

the only good things pre 1950 were jazz and classical

also the correct rating is this
90s>60s>70s>10s>00s=80s

>not understanding implications

i was implying that if you're 30+ you shouldn't be on Sup Forums

chocolate milk>coffee>beer>tea>whiskey>soda

Out of my way pleb fucking shits.

60's>30's>50's>70's>40's>20's>90's>2000's>80's>10's>2010's

why?
>i'm all up in your secret club

fedora.jpg

>30's
>listening to proto-electroswing
literally the fedora of genres

lead belly, louis jordan, and fats domino called. they said keep your plebeian mouth shut.

>no adults allowed!!11!1!1!!!

not what i'm saying, i'm just saying it's embarrassing. don't you have a wife and children and a career to addend to?

yeah honestly incredibly fedora. in what fucking world are the 90s worse than the 20s? also name your top 10 favorite works from the 30s please

well obviously blues was great, but it was rarely recorded well anyways. actually putting anything pre 1940 on these lists is just retarded.

>Cannot appreciate the golden age of swing jazz
The true fedora is yourself.

>what fucking world are the 90s worse than the 20s?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roaring_Twenties

>also name your top 10 favorite works from the 30s please
Can't really think of my top stuff, but it's all jazz.

Divorced. Girlfriend is working. I work part time in the music industry. I like to keep my hands in different forums. Research, pal.

>Can't really think of my top stuff, but it's all jazz.
a_kind_of_blue.jpg

Coltrane, Miles Davis, I could go on.......

>links a wiki article that i've read before instead of defending his point
>can't even name some jazz works from the 30s

i can guarantee you the 90s were better than either decade

Those are from the 50's/60's, aka the golden age of bebop. You may have seen that 60's was my number one.

I bet you can't even name on thing from before 1970, you faggot. Listen to Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Sidney Bechet, Jelly Roll Morton, Joe "King" Oliver, James P. Johnson, Fletcher Henderson, Frankie Trumbauer, Paul Whiteman, Bix Beiderbecke, etc and then shoot yourself.

>90's

this song alone is better than anything bjork or radiomeme ever did youtube.com/watch?v=Mx4gi5_AV2U

70s>90s>60s>80s>00s>10s

doesn't get the meme.

oups

FUCK

I get the meme that you're insecure and have to say "Miles Davis" to every jazz fan.

dubs confirms

nice wikipedia browsing you pussy

and i guarantee i know more about jazz than you do. i've listened to/played music from all of those artists before, and while they're good/influential, they don't compare to later stuff

did i mention bjork or radiohead anywhere? also how can you possibly think that song is better than anything radiohead has done? that's ridiculous. is this some scaruffi "anything influential is automatically superior" bullshit? in that case let's just say bach created the best music of all time and leave it at that
