what even is Ruff Sound? i get the impression it's a bit of a meme
big up junglist cru
what are these dates, exactly? dnb was the main sound way beyond 97.
it sucked after '97
FTFY
ruff sound is grime but created at 160 bpm this enforces a more technical style of mcing upon the mc making him chat, not like a rapper, but a RAGGA MC
it is not existing riddims sped up because that would change the pitch and leave no space for the mc
nonsense

its got mcs and shite and speed garage was CLEARLY the result of american garage house fused with jungle
>1995-99 - big beat, nu skool
that went until at least 2003-04 when it got displaced by progressive house and electro-house
go back to your containment thread with this shitty brit-edm
shit happens concurrently. its rare something will completely end as an other is born. maybe a certain time period is more defining of a style but it doesnt mean the older thing completely died out.
Electro-house isn't part of the hardcore continuum
top one nice one get sorted
Source Direct's LP, Klute's entire discography
You absolute pleb m8.
Ave you not heard of Bad Company?
brostep was a whole new sound apart from dubstep and arguably started in 2009, it had more in common with neurofunk than garage or grime
the only people who think music exists in a 'continuum' (please, how fucking pretentious) are trendhopping outsider retards
everyone else knows it's a fucking free for all
if you had to be anal about the taxonomy you would describe it as a web
89-92 - Breakbeat Hardcore
92-95 - Jungle
96-00 - Drum & Bass, Big Beat
98-02 - UK Garage
02-07 - Grime
04-09 - Dubstep
Everything basically began with House and Techno. After 09 everything started becoming much less clear cut, the term UK Bass was thrown around for a bit but no one seems to use it anymore. UK Funky and Bassline weren't big enough scenes to support themselves as the 'main' underground dance music genre in the UK. Garage House has existed in the UK since the early to mid 90s but was never as popular as breakbeat subgenres around at the same time.
Grime has made a revival but it is literally pop music now.
Yeah but also best forgotten.
