What circuit simulation software do you guys use? Taking my first hard EE course here and i need something

Multisim BLUE
It's free.

LT Spice is free and fast. It takes a little while to get used to it. Learning the more advanced features is worth it. Also the shortcut key are worth learning. The help is useful for this. There is also a lot of stuff available online for it. It runs well in wine under Linux as well. It's a shame that's not more common for EE software.

EW WINDOWS?

Well if OP is steering himself towards anything automatics or PCB design related he's gonna need Windows.

I'ma computer engineering student so yes but i'll use wine

Well Altium I think actually plays nice with Wine, but good luck running anything from Siemens for PLC assuming that's the standard your country deals with. If you're in Europe it pretty much is.

Get ready to dual boot or run a VM in the future. . This shit is bananas.

WINE is alright

brainlet detected.

Lt spice or pspice
You will need models for transistors
If your class doesn't require a sim, but you need one to check homework or something, you're a brainlet

Learn something that you can import into Eagle
if you dont, you're going to be sad when you need to make a PCB
LT spice is kinda a pain to learn, rotating parts and the like is not as intuitive as multisim

Honestly just use whatever your lab computers have.
>checking hw with circuit software
never understood why people did this
Its faster to just re-do the problem on paper

Sorry your shit school only taught circuits with 3 passive components
A junior level course will have homework biasing a multi stage amp

>he needs a simulator to do multi stage problems
Do you also need to wear a helmet when you leave the house?

In college I used Cadence OrCAD. There is a free version available.

>thinks transistors are hard
oh no, more algebra!!

You said it was faster to redo on paper
and I never said I needed a simulator
You are e statting on an anonymous Japanese image board to feel better

I'm not the one who started bragging about having to do multi stage amps.

>do problem
>check simulation
>oh man i made a mistake
>have to redo problem
or
>do problem
>redo problem
>compare differences
Hell you can replace redoing problems with checking with a classmate
but im getting a feeling no one would want to talk to you

...

proteus can run arduino code

...

I picked it because it's most likely to be relatable
Most EE ugrads stop at junior electronics
Bragging is telling you I have a vlsi job in SV at one of the top three semi companies

>he needs to run a simulation to find the output of a multistage amplifier
kek

MicroSIM
