I am getting mixed messages from here. Is Java the best, or is Rust, or what? What language do you like the most?
What's your favorite programming language Sup Forums?
C++
C
Isn't C++ inelegant or some shit
D
Java is probably still your best bet for career.
I don't have a favorite language anymore. They all suck in one way or another. Actually, I take that back. My favorite language is 90s era Turbo Pascal. It was fun and fast.
C isn't object-oriented so everything in it is much more complicated than it needs to be
ployglot or gtfo
it is really complex and has to support a lot of old design flaws to remain backward compatible. also you have to manage memory yourself
Python.
although you can follow object oriented design quite easily. I like c
This. Favorites are for weenies. Pick a language that suits your problem, use it, then move on to the next problem.
If your problem is "learn to code", just pick something!
JS
C but it's not good
>what is a struct
i like the options and simplicity of python but hate the lack of static typing... so vhdl it is
HolyC is pretty good
ultimately personal preference
Java is my love, cannot really explain why.
Often it's just the way that you choose your first language and this then becomes your "true" one, even if you can later then learn other ones they just don't have the status.
Scheme
+1
Go is a close second for anything somewhat "high-level"
>vhdl
>not systemVerilog
...
verilog is better i know but uni insists i use vhdl so i guess its a bit like stockholm syndrome
haskell
but secretly clojurescript
Industry uses vhdl mostly.
php
assembly, grow up you already
Lisps, my favorite is Scheme but I also like the JavaScript variant.
