Why do companies push for diversity?
I understand diversity of thought, but is there ANY legitimate positive outcome from the kind of diversity they're pushing?

They don't believe in objective individualist thought, so they try to stack the deck with lots of different identities since group consensus is their only way of understanding reality and they value "underprivileged" and "underrepresented" viewpoints highly ("privilege stack") because from their perspective they are lacking in their group decision making.

So that people think the company is more welcoming to whatever demographic they are and they want to do business with the company more (If a black guy sees black people working in a big company, he might think "this is a cool company that isn't racist!" and spend more money there)
