Fav RAM brand

What's your favourite memory brand? Mine is currently pic related at the moment.

I just buy whatever is cheapest but not a shitty off-brand.

if((ram==cheap)&&(!scammerTierQuality)) {
buy(ram);
}

>trying to look smart while wrapping booleans for no reason

Sup Forums in a nutshell

you got me, i wrap all my shit because i get confused easily.

Not noticing that ram is probably an object, and thus the whole thing is wrong anyways.

>OOP fag
You have to go back.

G.Skill is okay. OCs to 2400Mhz and was cheap back in the day.

Only reliable source of b-die ram.

adata bulk ram. bought dozens of 2.4ghz sticks for myself, family and work - always work at advertised latency and clock. all i need.

Posting the guide for all the newbies out there.

Needs to be updated since Sniper is out of production and the current meme ram is g.skill tridentz rgb.
Also flarex for AMD.

My Vengeance modules look different anyway, no/low profile heat spreaders are best.

Not even good in general sense. Pick your board and check to make sure it supports the memory you are buying. I laugh at guys that buy memory based on how it looks rather than how it really performs.

>2400mhz
>heatsinks
why?

They've all got them, I tried to get minimal modules (no heat spreaders) but they were more expensive at the time.

Samsung

>32GB for 177
me in pic

all the non-gaymer ram i see around doesn't have heatsinks or casings and it's quite a bit cheaper. never saw why they put that superfluous shit on the chips. doubt the thermals would go up much unless you're hitting 3.5-4ghz or something.

Yeah mine never get hot, the spreaders are a meme.

I guess it's mainly for aesthetics

>favourite memory brand
this is some nu-Sup Forums consumerism right here.
Brand matters not, the only things you should care about are price, size, and speed.

Any maybe compatibility?

>in the year 2018
Not really a thing anymore. There were some issues at Ryzen launch, but for the most part ddr4 DIMMs will be compatible with ddr4 slots, and so on.

mushkin

How does different ram effect colours and contrast?

techno-homeopathy: bits retain the characteristics of the hardware they come in contact with.

First one to drop to a reasonable price gets to stay in my tower!

When are RAM prices going to go down? The current RAM prices make me want to an hero.

There are no competition any more, obviously. They have formed cartels and manipulate prices upwards now and it will not end.

Crucial

With aromatherapy.

$90 for 32GB?

When the fuck was that?

Ram prices shot up past that before DDR4 even came out.

EMI shielding.
