ehhh it seems like a lot of money at first but like the other guys are saying, its about 5 hours of music. take that into consideration and thats about 10 per hour. not that bad really. it really comes down to whether you're an autechre fan or if u think this release is any good.

AE are well aware of pirate culture, and I think they explicitly made this a quintuple album so that people who support them will support them a ton, while people who can't don't have to feel guilty.

it's because they have reached a level of proficiency where they generate music in realtime like jazz musicians instead of tinkering and making 'tracks' as we are used to digesting.
This could be the future, or at least until they change their process again, but even then they probably wont do that in a way that surrenders the real time capabilities they have with the max patches they use now.
They have said in interviews, the product is the digital file and in their own lives they don't see have much use for physical media.
ae is gonna be the grateful dead of idm- they are a jam band now, probably gonna release stuff like this all the time now.
