Moving to college in few months so I decide to get a notebook

>Moving to college in few months so I decide to get a notebook
>Decide to get gayman NT because why the fuck not my desktop has been rusty for a while and cant run 2015+ games anymore
>Everything worthwhile with at least 1050 is around 1000 euroshekels
What the fuck am I even paying for? If I could get these parts and build it manually I could probably get all that shit with OS included for like 600. Are you telling me Im actually paying 400 fucking shekels just for the ability to bring it wherever I want?

College has these little desks and people will probably make fun of you a bit. Remember to play CS:GO in class when they do.

mate just get a fucking laptop that does work shit and nothing else (ie no games)

You'll have to carry around your laptop everywhere you go and having something light like an ultrabook vs something clunky like an RoG laptop makes all the difference. Plus you won't look like a fucking manchild either. Battery life is a huge factor as well.

Thank me later

Don't do that. I got a gaymur laptop for college, they're heavy, look cringey, and the battery doesn't last long. Get something thin and light.

Gaming laptops are dumb for gaming and are only useful for general desktop replacement. If you want to play games just get a real computer.

And yes I own a gaming laptop but it's just so I can computer nice and comfy in my bed. Gaming is done on the desktop or the bed desktop for more casual games. Laptop isn't for gaming

After doing some research you guys may be right. I could get a nice 600€ notebook. I did want to finally play shit like TW:W or witcher 3, but maybe I should go with a cheaper choice and actually try to socialise and make gaming something I do when Im seriously bored at college or Im sick or something.
Oh well...

this.

BTW forgot to ask how you got rust in your desktop, I assume it's a fun story?

Don't do it, they have shitty U processors and you will look like a soyboi if you can't lift a bit thicker laptop

I totally understand that you want to game, but it would honestly be a better use of your investment (tuition + time) to not give yourself the opportunity to get sidetracked with gaming. Once you get your degree and work a real job, your time is (usually) yours to fuck around with after work.

You can always build a desktop a year or two later if you want. Just focus on school while you're in it dude, trust me.

>Tennessee Tech

stopped reading right there

If u knew anything about the South you'd know it's a well respected public university

Into the trash it goes

I go to uni in Texas you mongoloid

Thanks for a good advice. I will probably get Acer aspire 5 with RX540. Not even 600€. Looks like a good compromise right? It will run party games like overwatch or street fighter and I guess thats what matters right. I thought about it and realized I dont even enjoy playing big AAA titles like fallout or witcher. They are big but empty. I get more fun out of a small indie game like hotline miami than these AAA games. Thanks Sup Forums
What the fuck is this nigga

desktop + cheap laptop is your answer.

Using a laptop during classes is overrated anyways.
It's more a distraction than a learning aid.

>just get a fucking laptop that does work shit and nothing else
FUCKING THIS

I have so much fun watching all the retards lug around a 5lb gaymen laptop while I do all my uni stuff just fine with a tiny used X series Thinkpad that is almost completely silent and has 3 times the battery life.

Witcher isn't very empty m8

>mate just get a fucking laptop that does work shit and nothing else (ie no games)

I agree with this. I am a university student 3 months into the second semester, and I made the mistake of buying a pretty heavy 15 inch gaming laptop.

It is hell on my back, and only fits into a huge backpack that I have.

Pic related was your savior.

I cannot stress how stupid Dell is for that webcam placement, though. says fuck all about their talent in designing laptops.

>It is hell on my back, and only fits into a huge backpack that I have.
kek, my computer bag is actually too big for my machine. It only takes up about 2/3rds of the space reserved for the laptop.

t.

Soy.

Yep. I have a cheap T410 that I use as a daily driver, and my main machine is a Behemoth overkill machine.

True, a big advantage is that you can use a desktop computer at home because you didn't try to splurge on a laptop that is good for everything.
