"breezy"

"sunny"

literally no proof whatsoever of that picture being me. It was included in a collage of alleged messages from me to other people based on a hunch.

Also I can change my profile picture if you really want me to, still not a furry regardless.

"dark like your soul"
seriously though you've got cool stuff on there, especially MOSAIC.WAV, Satie, ONJQ. how's that Sachiko and Sakamoto thing?

>more of a gentle soul than he'd like other people to think
probably
>"sunny"
you mean my favorite weather type?
nah, not at all

It's beautiful.

is it similar to Sakamoto's collabs with Alva Noto, but with sine waves, or something?

more of the overall feeling I got from you and your choices, it's not concretely meteorological

It's a bit similar, but the Noto colaborations are way glitchier and only utp_ is close to the Sachiko colab

Returnal's definitely a fantastic album

That dark colour scheme looks beautiful

Shut the hell up you bigoted autistic furry. Go back to indieheads.

can honestly say i dont care for any of those. battles is ok

uh oh

>can honestly say i dont care for any of those. newsom is ok

yummy

My rating system is really biased - I only give 5s to LPs/Singles/EPs that I really enjoyed AND thought were virtually perfect.

do you miss high school or something

>portishead fan calling anyone a highschooler

All from ~8 years ago. Not too much has changed, probably.

>liking a legitimately good album makes me a fedora

Is this theme a subscriber perk?

...

I was a huge fan of First Temple going into the Pink Lemonade hype and really liked the singles. Then the album dropped and I thought it was a really neat progression of their sound. Every song stood on its own and I ended up highly appreciating the change of pace. Only skip-worthy song is Beckon Fire and even that song serves as a nice cooldown. There's a nice song-by-song breakdown somewhere online that gave me an even higher appreciation for each track too

No, see: The subscriber themes suck

Oh thanks
The white theme makes my eyes hurt if I browse RYM at night

>With your ambient choices have you tried Woob 1194?
Yes, the penguin album
It's nice
Their toucan album is nice too

...

Flame me, please.

why do you have so many 5*s??

a ton of pop punk shit there, ok fine maybe that was super important to you as a teenager and affected you deeply. fine i can respect that

but graduation?? really??? fucking graduation???

44/755 is less than 6%, good ratio 2bh

You're right, most of the pop punk is from my formative years. So is Graduation. Graduation isn't the *best* rap album I've heard, but it's my favourite.

My rap album rankings are something like:

1. Graduation
2. GKMC
3. MBDTF
4. The Black Album
5. The Cool

Ah that makes sense @number of ratings. Guess it seemed like more than it really was.

What do you see in graduation that you like so much? I mean some of the songs are great but IMO it has a few really weak tracks and it doesn't strike me as nearly as interesting as many of Kanye's other albums, not as conceptually unified as CD, MBDTF, 808s, or Yeezus. A much poppier album that feels relatively uninspired.

...

honestly just kill yourself man

I've come close to twice. I'm better now, but who knows, maybe third time's the charm. Keep your fingers crossed my man.

It's not really groundbreaking like 808s or CD, and it's not inspired like MBDTF and LR; hell it's not even passionate like TLOP and Yeezus. But above all, it's Ye at his most confident, at his most braggadocios, at his most Jay-Z (not counting Watch The Throne obv, but that album is way weaker lyrically and production-wise than any other Ye album). Graduation has that air of unlimited swagger, that vibe of "I'm on top of the fucking world, watch me sell 4 million albums like it's fucking nothing, no one is going to fucking touch me".

None of Ye's other albums are like that: CD and LR are him trying to prove himself and establish his sound, 808s is him at his weakest and rawest, MBDTF is him justifying himself, Yeezus is him lashing out at the world, and TLOP is a look into his topsy-turvy post-fame life. Graduation, though, is him coasting and enjoying every fucking moment at the top. If you've watched Goodfellas, it's the middle part of the film when they're enjoying all their money and success before everything goes to shit.

He's on his A game on that album and fuck everyone who dares touch him. The world was finally on *his dick* and he made an entire fucking album about it.

That's why I love it so much. It's Kanye at his most Kanye, before the memes.

Interesting take on it, i see the appeal now though i still disagree. maybe ill listen to it again tho.

This isn't the full list of my 5's.
Just a sampling.

Pretty much everyone in this thread has literally no personality. Reminder if all of your 5s are critically acclaimed records then you have fucking vanilla taste.
