Some guy had an xbox dev kit and turned it into a pc. Retards sperged out claiming that was the key to xbox emulation. There are lots of dev kits out there and no emulation. It's a way worse form of virtue signaling.

Based redditor uses Xbox dev console case to build his pc. There was nothing of value on that dev kit, the he'd was wiped. Virgin channer proceeds to rage about this despite the fact that anyone can do whatever they want with their stuff.

Thanks! ^^

Thanks ouo

>There are lots of dev kits out there and no emulation.
You mean the ones that are just normal Xboxes with twice the RAM? Yeah, there's lots of those. A bunch of game and dashboard prototypes have been found on them too. Who knows what could've been in this early devkit if the retard didn't wipe the hard drive.

You don't have to type anything in order to post a thread, dumb redditor.

This was Microsoft's INTERNAL dev kit. Not many of those around.

For the newfags a single redditor set back Xbox one emulation by almost a decade because he whiped a devkit HDD for literally no reason so he could use ops pic as a PC case

This is not a dev Xbox. This existed before the Xbox was even in manufacture. It's literary bolk standard PC hardware that closely matches that of Xboxs and runs Xbox software. Only 11 of those development machines were ever made.

Also, there is no Xbox emulation. It's virtualization.

No, the funny part was, that he was a poorfag and did a low end build for even the time and bitched about how shit his hardware is.
Latter he found out that there were people that would have easily paid 5 grand for it if he didn't destroy it and he could have had his RGB gayming machine he so wanted.

Formatting development files without backup is a sin for anyone.
I'm not even going to get into the fact that he didn't actually "own" it as they were rented out by Microsoft, it's like buying a car from a lowlife that he only rented and tried to pass of as his.

Nothing would have come from it.

And you know this because...? The HDD was not empty when he decided to wipe it to store his flash porn games. The fucking retard didn't even know what kind of files were there or how to open them, so he deleted them.
As far as we know, it could have contained development files, an old build of a game, source code or pictures of Bill Gates naked being buttfucked with a TI-92.

Far bigger chance of it being useless files or absolutely nothing than it is being relevant to emulation and the likes.

"Chances" my ass. The chances of having a devkit like that in working conditions with an HDD full of files is also pretty low.
You're just sucking that kid's ass because "he le troled le redit XD" you fucking contrarian.
Go fuck yourself. Even if those files were just old assets or unusable binaries, it's fucking retarded to delete them to make such a shitty build. Not to mention, the HDD was too slow to run Windows or modern games anyway.

Why is it "fucking retarded" to delete files you have no use of and have no way of using?

He could've at least uploaded them to the interwebz for people that know what they are doing

Reminds me of that guy who returned the source code of StarCraft to Blizzard...

Why would you even care or do with the source code exactly?

I'm really curious, I'm a dev myself and huge RTS enthousiast, yet don't see why I would need the code of SC.

>Also, there is no Xbox emulation.
There are different approaches, not all of them use virtualization.

Just buy an Xbox. You can get one for like $10

They lost the source code in a move and it was utilised for the remaster.
And iirc when he found it he hit up blizzard and told them what he'd come across, so they offered him a box of stuff as a trade

Could have been ported to Linux + better mod support

What do you do on an xbox dev kit other than develop games? You think the guy was doing his taxes on it?
