Is the Lenovo ThinkPad Carbon, actually, un-ironically the best laptop ever?

>8th Gen quad-core CPU
>256 GB SSD
>Matte, touch display
>Precision trackpad
>Nipple
>Good keyboard
>Trackpad keys
>Thunderbolt 3
>Standard USB A port
>Privacy shutter for camera
>16 GB of ram
>Thin and light
>Huge battery and quick charging
Literally what fucking more does Sup Forums want?

Ya I'd like to buy an x1c5 but am poorfag so feelsbadman

>Lenovo ThinkPad Carbon

Integrated GPU at a $1400 price mark really kills this. It seems really awesome if you just need to work, websurf etc but I doubt it's gonna game or render movies very well without dedicated graphics - If i'm wrong, correct me though.

I have an ideapad 700 and, at about half the price (plus an SSD), I can do most everything this does plus game because it has dedicated graphics. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't hold a candle to my desktop, but it's good enough for when I travel or I'm bored at work.

Just wait till used sellers start selling.

they still overprice the fuck out of them on ebay

You can get an EGPU for that.

>Standard USB A port
is this a feature now?

I bought a Surface Laptop, it has one, and i've used it quite literally once, and that was to plug in a mouse, in which, I no longer need. Anything else I'd want is in USB C (which I don't have), so if it were to go away tomorrow, I really wouldn't be hurting too much.

for that price get a macbook

much better

>non-removable battery
>RAM is soldered in
>Fan comes on from normal usage

That's a nice little calculator you have there, Champ.

>non-removable battery
You can remove it
support.lenovo.com/ca/en/solutions/pd030267
>Ram is soldered
It's not youtube.com/watch?v=_wqjMVuohM0
>Fan comes on from normal usage
>Source: My ass.
Can you fucking neets just come clean and say you don't wanna pay for it?

>you can remove it
Having to disassemble the laptop to replace it is not what people think of when they think removable battery. You shouldn't even have to take the bottom off. That's not convenient at all.
>[RAM is soldered] It's not
You just sent me a video of someone replacing the SSD, not the RAM. The RAM is absolutely soldered on.
>[Fan comes on from normal usage] My ass.
Yes, it does. My idiot coworkers traded their desktops for these. When I'm in a meeting with them, they're just clicking around spreadsheets, and I can hear the annoying fan come on. The thing sounds like it's about to blow up.

Nearly but, the T480S is actually the straight up superior option.

> Nearly as thin and light
> Wayy cheaper
> Much better cooling (there actually is a benefit to getting the i7 over i5/less throttling)
> Ethernet port
> 24GB Ram (only 8GB soldered, rest is expandable)
>More port in general
> More serviceable
> WWAN upgradeable even if not configured originally

The carbon is great and does have a better screen, but the T480S is just better overall, and truer to the original Thinkpad principles.

>T480S
>no more dual battery setup for the t4xxs series.

no thank you

They still got rid of the removable battery, which also means you can't have the dual battery setup like mentioned.

And since the idiot before didn't understand this, by "removable battery", I mean being able to remove it without taking it apart with a screwdriver (since you can't even do that on a plane)

If I'm paying that much for chink shit it's going to have a rotten piece of fruit on it.

My 2013 Macbook Pro has roughly equivalent specs, a 256GB SSD is way too small honestly.

Faggot retard

Ability to change parts and so on like old think pads

How does the display compare to a XPS 13/15/MBP/other laptops with actually good displays?

Can you fucking shills stop spamming this board with your shitty products already?

The top option is actually probably better than all of those (especially the XPS), its the only laptop that supports Dolby Vision.

Dick be stiffy uh, faggot give some licky uh.
Depends, top model s best in class, the lowest end one is pretty much equal to an XPS 13 but it has a matte display.
There's USB C and USB A, stop being a nigger.
How often are you changing the battery? Who cares? Why are they going to build in a feature that's going the make the laptop worse for a majority and better for a minority?

Repairing one is nightmare-fuel. Pic related. The keyboard is fastened with 70+ screws.

>256 GB SSD
>good
Nice b8

>no windows 7 support
useless

You can configure it higher, or upgrade nig nog.

>fan comes on from normal usage
Intel Inside.

>70+ screws
holly shit
youtu.be/JqYjJfRgBqY?t=4m49s
so you even need disasemble that whole thing to get to the keyboard

>It does not have the "Ñ" key
Into the trash it goes.

No gpu

My Dell Inspiron 7577 is much better:
>4k 15 inches display
>16gb ram explandable to 32gb
>1gb hdd and 512 ssd
>gtx 1060 max-q but miraculously performs like a normal 1060
>great build quality, does not flex if you push hard on it
>backlit keyboard
>fingerprint touch button for fast access
>stays cool as fuck even under heavy load
>only one screw to open it up and substitute hdd and RAM

the only downside is the battery but who gives a shit when you have all of that?

same with all shit macbooks

*1 tb hdd and 512 gb ssd

What are you? A knight who says "Ñ"?
