I should add that if you are conscious in creating a good friends list of people with interesting taste in music, your "as rated by my friends on RYM" chart can be very good for discovery.

positive rating systems are a great way to separate what you don't care about from the stuff you do care about, although i don't use it

in my experience, only misguided Sup Forumsdrones get mad over positive rating systems, and almost all of them don't seem to fully understand them

schizodanny, aka nadirauxpommes, and that's a bit overhyped because AntiWarhol added a lot of stuff to the site, and schizodanny was never as into all the folk stuff AntiWarhol was. it's hard to label him a drone, no matter how much revising history you attempt. really, the same could go for exitsense and bossa, who both started with a foundation from Anti and turned into having unique tastes themselves. it's all sort of cyclical.

You're probably thinking of schizodanny/nadirauxpommes, but even then that's not really true. People like Horb and chumlum are literally nadir drones, but AntiWarhol has always done his own thing. Their tastes often intersected because nadir has listened to a ridiculous amount of music (20k or so albums at the age of 20) and because they were friends and often rec'd each other stuff.

I thought AW's canon was specifically a rebuke against danny's, at least early on. Like, giving low ratings to stuff like Big Blood, etc

he rated Big Blood a 0.5 in 2011, when he was going on a 0.5 rating binge of all of karlhalliday's 4.5s and 5.0s that he hadn't droned from AntiWarhol (which was like 10 albums lol)
