Threeway tie between pic related, Moanin', and Shape of Jazz To Come.

billie holiday - complete columbia recordings.

Om is better

But you already posted my favorite jazz album OP

wew

The way this is produced is incredible. The bass sounds so rich and I think Tyner's playing is at his peak, esp. on the title track.

>The bass sounds so rich

are you serious? it's a good album, no doubt about that, but the sound quality is subpar, especially the sound of the bass!

I think that's what stands out to me from a sound quality perspective. The bass line is simple and adds a texture that is sometimes missing from Coltrane's later stuff.

boooo

garbage

very beautiful record. some good choices and some high levels of autism.

great record and a very careful ear can pick up the absolute genius of jimmy garrison but is definitely not known for its sound quality

...

Absolute pleb tier.

...

Jimmy Garrison wasn't actually featured on this album.

wow, youre right...holy shit.

hell yes...this guy, this is my kind of guy.

good analysis. the simplicity and meditative rhythm on the title track is something that is very hard to emulate, even if you transcribe it. leaves so much space in the middle of the bar, brilliant

I do know that he's not too amazing at all of the instruments, but his ability in the instruments is amazing.
