Some games play better on a controller, others play better on keyboard/mouse.
You can connect your Dualshock 4 to a PC and download DS4Windows to use it as a controller, remap buttons, and use the touchpad on it to control the mouse.

I prefer keyboard and mouse for most of the games I play, but sidescrollers or any other type of platformer are unplayable without a controller. Its all preference really.

Mouse and keyboard is the superior choice for any sort of game that requires precision (e.g. FPS) or complex commands (e.g. RTS), but IMO controllers can't be beat when it comes to the comfy factor. There's just something about grabbing a controller and sitting on the couch that makes the experience so much comfier. Plus controllers are totally sufficient for a large number of games.

Also, just had to add that the PlayStation controller was basically perfect from version one and it just keeps getting better.
