Bros, like many people here I fell for all your shitty memes and ended up trying most DEs and distros include Kgarbage and arch linux. Now I'm finally back to Ubuntu 17.10 and I must say it's the most comfiest experience possible.
To all the noobs here, stop falling for all the nonsense memes on Sup Forums. Especially no Kgarbage and fucking Gentoo
Ubuntu is the comfiest desktop environment
>no desktop icons
>the most comfiest experience possible
Ugh
buntu is ass. Install Debian.
ubuntu budgie is the comfiest desktop experience.
its a sane version of gnome
stop being a lazy nigger and install a REAL man's distro, Trisquel.
>ton of garbage on desktop
>comfy
Ubuntu != a desktop environment.
They just have a customized version of GNOME. Unity was the Ubuntu Desktop Environment but they scrapped it (RIP) and replaced it with shitty GNOME made shittier
Does Ubuntu still prompt you to reboot your system after updates? I haven't seen any other distro do that. You reboot when you want and newer stuff gets put to use after that.
>icons on desktop
Ugh
this
I was memed into Arch and all kind of shit. Ubuntu just works.
Debian and Manjaro are comfy
it was back when they used Unity
the new gnome version sucks
Debian with Openbox is the comfiest Debian-based experience.
I want to make the switch when 18.04 arrives. Should I use the Budgie spin?
Ubuntu is not a DE, though.
Fedora + KDE = Komfy as fuk
That was a typo, meant : Ubuntu is the comfiest desktop experience
Nah dude, I tried the Fedora KDE spin as well, it's utter garbage. Full of bloat and one of the worst kde implementations around. Even kubuntu and neon are better.
Ubuntu specifically stayed on old version to retain desktop icons.
>i don't do anything productive in my life
solus my dude.
This. I just stick with Ubuntu because although the default setup has issues it's the sanest general-purpose desktop configuration of Linux. Fedora is good in this regard as well, but baby duck syndrome has me prefering debian-based distros.
GNOME desktop icons suck
they can't even snap to a grid
It does, at least in 16.04, but you can just tell it no and it won't bother you after that. Also only for major updates, not small stuff
Are you me?
whoa
well, I don't use GNOME for a couple of reasons, and this one will be added to my list.
Yeah it's pretty comfy. I prefer Xubuntu myself, but my laptop is a toaster. Am building a new desktop and think I will go with Ubuntu on it once it's done.
Only for kernel updates, I think.
really hate those icons on ubuntu. Installed mint instead and find it much comfier. Kinda want to try a different IDE now tho tbqhwy.
What should I install on my external hd?
gnome 2 clearlooks/tango flawa is the comfiest
what more do you need
those folder icons look like shit
>ubuntu is desktop enviroment
9000 keks
this
Yeah everyone misses the gnome 2 days.
its the windows of Linux complete with telemetry and alphabet funded systemd
Ubuntu -shitty defaults -telemetry +better update manager +beautiful DE = Mint.
Im not even a mint user (manjaro ftw) but it is a better ubuntu version,
yeah nah, im not poor and can actually afford an unix certified OS
mint is ugly as fuck, what are you talking about
