>have oldish phone
>every guide comes with a ***WARNING NO LONGER WORKS WILL FUCK YOUR PHONE UP*** message
>only use it for basic phone stuff
>firmware is likely rooted anyway

What's the point?

>some apps no longer work when rooted
>even more bugs than with stock rom
>have a slightly different variant of a phone? lol

Nexus 5 is rooted by default, I think. Never really bothered to check, to be honest.

>do what I say of I'll be smugly superior
>you have to answer me right now

hahaha faggot

have fun with your phone, it is all you have in life.

My Lumia 930 does not have this problem

This thread is pointless, every Sup Forumsuy have their phone rooted

This.

I rooted my Galaxy Note and when I got the Note Edge I didn't feel the need at all. When I upgraded to an Xperia X I still feel like I'm not missing anything.

Why should I?

I rooted all my previous phones (Alcatel OT, Huawei y300, Lenovo A2010).and tablets.
It was almost a must as they came with bad kernel settings, low memory and tons of useless factory bloat.

With my current phone (Nokia 3) I don't feel the need of rooting. As it came only with Google apps and AOSP apps only, the only thing I would remove are the few google shit I never use.
Nokia gives constant security and OS updates and performance is good so I don't feel the need to fine tuning kernel variables AS OF NOW, it might change later.

>why you haven't rooted your phone yet
what the fuck am i supposed to do with this?

1 - don't know how.
2 - don't want to brick it.

mate I'm australian and my phone got rooted when i dropped it.

Too lazy to unlock bootloader and reflash OxygenOS with magisk, just use use DNS66 instead.

Because i have a non-rootable shitphone that only maybe 500-1000 other people use

Good taste friend

Im Lazy

It's illegal

Yes

My bank application can detect if a phone is rooted and if it is, it won't run.

>he trusts a (((bank)))

Blackberry Keyone can't be rooted

How else am I gonna buy anything. With bitcoin? Lol.

I have no idea how to do it and I don't trust those one-click tools like kingoroot.

Cant root symbian

Magisk can provide su without tripping SafetyNet iirc

My phone can't be rooted (Droid Turbo 2)

Didnt pay for it, dont own it.

I've already working apps for ping, telnet, ssh, openvpn, rdp and vnc in case I need them

plus I mostly just it for nav, text and talk

I do have root, but there aren't many reasons left to use it.
As of right now the only uses I can think of off the top of my head are AdAway and kernel adiutor for underclocking.

Completely impossible >:((((((

Blackberry :^(

Imblying.

There isn't any open source secure way to gain root access on my Lagdroid.

>owning your phone is illegal
No phone is rooted by default.

I did, it was the only way to upgrade my zenfone 2 to 6.0.
It took asus over a year to release it and they didn't even let me update on air.
I tried to install Lineage OS but I don't know why my phone wasnt able to.
Them later I learned that my bank App don't work on LineageOS so fuck it. I just want to buy a new iPhone.

How do you root modern phone again? I don't remember having to ask bootloader code to phone manufacturers to root and flashing rom to my Galaxy Wonder.
Is this a new security layer in modern phones?

Yes - so Tyrone won't just reset your stuff and sell the phone. Some phones still don't require a code. Most phones will erase your data.

>Muh safteynet
What's new in that version

Attached: Screenshot_20180317-144632.png (1312x2560, 160K)

Nothing special.

That's the changelog for the a manager, I mean 16.1 vs 16.0 of Magisk itself

Fix MTK boot image packaging
Add more Nook/Acclaim headers support
Support unpacking DTB with empty kernel image
Update high compression mode detection logic
Support new mke2fs tool on Android P
Support Android P new property context files
Add new rules for Android P

I'm too stupid to get past the isp blocks

>in his country, companies make the law

I rooted my last phone and it performed worse. I don't trust those chink ROMs anyways.

I had to spend all day unrooting my android devices because of safetynet™

Just Magisk you retard

OxygenOS is pretty comfy and just werks.

I unfortunately have the verizon version of the pixel 2 and am hoping someone comes up with another exploit to unlock the bootloader.
BTW, there's a dude that has found a way to do so for the verizon pixel 1 recently, he charges like 30 bucks and is the only one with the exploit, but it seems he's legit.

it's too old (from 2011) and it was low end at the time. i only use it to receive and make calls and nothing more.

As an Android Developer the one thing I hate the absolute most is these rootfags complaining why their customized shit rom isn't able to run my app correctly and rating it 1 star.

Magisk is whole another day of fiddling for barely tangible benefits, maybe some day

Unlocking my bootloader wipes everything + effort / don't really need it, only want.

Until I see a method for rooting without losing everything, I'll not bother.

In b4 HURR DURR BACKUP

Don't want to fuck up my phone bc I don't have money for a new one rn

Because I don't have one.

I am lazy

Security updates.

nice loonix sticker

Root this motherfucker. Also, lol suck a dick

Attached: BlackBerry_Classic.png (609x812, 603K)

>not using an OS which allows you to enable and disable root on demand for apps

Pleb

Why haven't you backed up your data though? What if you drop your device? Retard.

No TWRP or custom rom for mine yet.

I have everything backed up that I require, I meant that I don't have backups for restores.

>65136628
>some apps no longer work when rooted

Magisk manager

can't play LoveLive and I need muh waifus

use sudohide, and rootcloak

I did.

Magisk passes SafetyNet checks, google pay, anything that will detect a rooted phone, you can tell Magisk to hide root from said application, and it'll work. It also is 'systemless' so you don't modify your rom. I use google pay which doesn't work on rooted devices with no issues. Xposed framework however breaks this.

I had this phone, I loved it. SD card slot, near AOSP, great size, very sturdy, great weight, didn't feel cheap. I dropped it in a lake, broke the phone, shame.

Attached: index.jpg (4794x2096, 935K)

Use magisk or any systemless root. Works with plebchat and botnet pay.

Cash and burner cards are your friend.

Is it worth rooting the s8 plus? Seems kinda unnecessary

I play anime mobage games on it

It's pretty much the only reason I have a smartphone so rooting would be pointless

are there ansi japanese thinkpad keyboards?

I rooted my s6 edge to get shit like free spotify and it fucked up because you can't use apps like Snapchat or any Samsung apps like Samsung pay on a rooted phone. You can't unroot the phone either you have to actually install a whole new fresh official OS on the phone again to make the device status official to use Snapchat again but you're permanently blocked from using Samsung apps because once knox is tripped you have to get a new phone which hasn't ever been rooted to use Samsung apps again.

Rooting and custom roms are different. I'm running rootes Oxygen OS right now

Cause its a google pixel xl and it works fine

Rooted ya fuckin phone eh? Where does ya stick ya fuckin dick ya poofter cunt?!

Attached: aussie.jpg (229x220, 8K)

Samsung pay

Because I actually use my phone instead of endlessly tinkering with it.

>root s8+
>6 months later
>still no 80% battery cap fix
>still no garbled screen fix besides "tyrn acreen off and back on
Convince me noy to unroot it

>s8+
