Why do so many idiots buy brand new PC parts? Why not buy used parts? I can find used SSDs 250GB for $70 here or GTX 1080 TI for $600 (lel, new ones cost $1000 here).

Cause if your shit breaks no warranty

I buy used but I'm too sketched out by used storage.

No one wants your mining GPU with thermal paste looking like the great salt lake, melted GDDR5 chips and rattling fans you double nigger

>Buying used SSD's
Stahp being a fag OP
Some parts are reasonably fine to buy used but with mining I'd currently shy away from used GPU's.

>tfw living socialist country
Everything is more expensive but at least I only risk paying return shipping if I get bamboozled

I'd never buy used SSD/HDD cause there's no way to tell till after you bought it how long it'll last. Sure it may last 2 years error free, but it could also die a week after you install/use it. Not worth the risk to my data plus wasted money for no gain.

>buying literally disintegrated circuits

What about used Intel Xeon cpu's? I'm considering getting a Xeon W3680 so I can go from a 2.93GHz cpu to a 3.33GHz cpu.

How reliable can a used cpu be? I bought my pc used, however I'm now wanting to get a faster one so I can also go from 16 to 32GB memory as well.

>new ones cost $1000 here
cheapest i can find is $1200 here

LGA1366? Do NOT buy Xeon W3680. Go for the hexacore x56xx series of Xeon, you can overclock them easily and they are cheap as fuck on ebay.
See related image, I'm running a X5675 @ 4.2, cinebench score of 1000.

Used parts in general are fine, but
>used SSDs
see pic related

same goes for hard drives

Would you get a used gf?

Thats someones fetish, user

depends to be honest.

I have a first gen I7 and old lga1133 mobo that were run regularly and hard for 10 years. They still work fine and the critical operations are all solid. Only thing fucking up in peripheral shit on the motherboard with some SATA ports and USB slots going wonky and intermittently working.

I bought a used graphics card once, it killed two motherboards.

So applefags have a fetish for the tiny little logo of upside-down shitting ass drawn on their tech? Only that can explain people unironically buying anything from them.

Isn't that the way it works? Or are you always getting virgins?

old server shit is the really only use case I support - provided this is for your house/lab and not anything professional
