Since crypto is in a huge down trend mining wont be profitable soon meaning the market is going to be flooded with gpu's. My question is, if there is any way to determine if a card is good enough to buy or are they all going to be ragged out and it would be stupid to buy?

Don’t most gaymers play PC for like at least 6 hours a day and leave their PC on for weeks at a time? Pretty much equivalent to mining? Or does mining put more stress on the card ?

Well I would imagine that most are mining 24/7 at full blast. So more wear and tear.

Why would you only mine for 6 Hours a day ?

Miningcards are at full load 24/7/~365

the most common damage from mining is the fan controller, as the fans aren't meant to be run at 100% for any extended period of time
it's an easy fix

almost all mining damage is an easy fix with soldering skills and being able to identify what broke

No no, it's like a car.
Stopping at intersections and going 120 with a trailer is the same thing.

>crypto is in a huge down trend

Is it? I clicked on /biz/ and I only saw a couple pink wojaks, usually there's much more if crypto is falling.

Never buy used electronics unless you can repair them

Not without buying.

The minging cards are probably better off then the 6 hours a day gayming cards.
What kills those cards is on/off use, constant use it not as bad.

Buying used GPUs is your own stupidity in any way, used mining or gayming GPUs, doesn't matter.

>mining wont be profitable soon
[citation needed]

Do NOT buy any ex-mining gpu. Even if the deal is too good to pass up. Do not buy it. They've made their bed, now they can lie in it.

No, OP. You won't see cheap GPUs in next few years. You're video games have to wait.

Problem with mining cards is that their VRMs are fucked.
Most of those cards are stacked together, have no proper cooling and were running on max at 24/7.
I would buy used cards used in research or render farms before mining cards any day and those are the ones people used to avoid due to being on their last legs too.

Mining cards have memory that is prone to failure due to overclocking + 24/7 strain for who knows how long
It might run a display fine but crash in a game whereas dead gaming cards give a blackscreen

they are less pink wojaks because the resignation has settled in.

Wow! How do I become a video game?

>the thought of GPU prices crashing

We're going to get those Nvida jews to release their next generation when they aren't making stupid fucking profit on their two year old hardware is what. And AMD can just spend more on their gaming division since they basically wrote it off with Vega being designed as a low power chip.

Haven't you heard? Nvidia's planning a "Geforce Partnership Program" to effectively eliminate any competition what so ever, giving them the ability to control the market further.

>he thinks he will be able to tell it was used for mining
the delusion

Check if the seller is selling more than 1 GPU (especially large batches). Also read the description carefully. Some will say never mined but are liars. Anyhow it will mostly be problems with overheating caused by being too closed to other cards and in a poorly cooled setting. Most miners undervolt/underclock and push the memory instead. Fans running flat out 24/7 are usually the first to go though.

Stop spellling it gaymer. Stop going into massive denial anytime someone says that crypto is falling. Fucking schizo

>Miningcards are at full load 24/7/~365
You're literally raping the cards by doing that

Stop spelling it "gaymer". Stop pretending you're rich. Stop being anti-video games. Just fucking stop you freaks. ACT NORMAL.

But I'm a gaymer.

I wish I was a video game.

>literally raping the cards

Well we found the SJW

>degrading the components of a device through the exposure to heat over a time period the device was not designed for
>we undervolt
is that the voltage specified in the user manual?

my 2 1060 are power limited to 52%.
so yea, it's better than gaymur overcock.

Gaming is fine.
4k gaming is dead.

>It's another episode of neo-Sup Forums aka Sup Forums fantasizing about the demise of crypto so they can buy their digital toys at poverty prices
>Missing out on the next big thing just due to autistic spite
And i'm not even talking about mining, that's a boat long gone

digital currency was designed to crash the financial market

when real currency is worthless so is crypto currency you dumb nigger

This guy gets it. Honeymoon is over. Hype is dead. Most people understand it to be a fraudulent cancer and have no interest in it.
Now comes the slow and steady die-off

If real currency becomes worthless shitcoins will be the least of your worries you subhuman negro

Nah senpai, crypto will for sure have another boom, people have short memories and everyone is looking to "make" easy money, the allure is too great for many. Look at the regular economy, bubbles happen all over the world, all the time. Housing, currency, company stocks, etc. "true value" is hard to find.

Is that how far up dicks are supposed to go when erect? Mine has a downward curve even at max arousal. Do I need viagra?

>says senpai
>doesn't know japan along with korea and China banned it.

say goodbye to half the population

Some dudes have big dicks that need more blood to engorge them. I've seen plenty of porn actors who never get above horizontal.

They're usually undervoted to keep them cooler. The wear and tear is a fucking meme.

>doesn't know about the word filter
The reddit shortbus apparently has a stop around here somewhere.

Cite some stuff faggots. COMPUTERS ARE NOT LIKE CARS. All of this is baseless and you are cucking yourself out of working hardware

This image makes me supremely jealous.

Don't buy mining cads, I bough two HD7950 back in 2014 from two different sellers, one just outright died one day and the other would behave erratically like sometimes the games would display in wireframe mode.
The had to be replaced within months.

The problem with mining GPUs is that they run 24/7 at maximum power draw so even while undervolted they are still pumping 100watts+ constantly toasting the VRM and Vram while in gaming or utodesk 3dsMax rendering GPU, the driver still does power savings.
Also those fuckers are going to lie to you, telling you that the GPUs are in perfect condition were properly cooled, etc.
My ass they keep them cooled properly just a quick trip to youtube and you can see their fucking ghetto ass shitty setups.

want to buy this new car? it's never been driven before
buying 2nd hand from gamer: want to buy this car? I've only used it once every few days to drive to the shop
buying 2nd hand from miner: want to buy this car? it's only been used non-stop full blast on the oval.
