> be me > technical on-site at netflix for engineering role > soyboy engineering manager enters room, puts his work laptop on table > giant communist/ANTIFA-like sticker on laptop > proceeds to ask technical questions
Honestly it felt like this was intentional, like they are screening for like-minded people. It was off-putting.
Are all big tech companies like this now? I don't want to subscribe to far-left ideology to be comfy.
If you don't want to be part of the far-left, just maintain a legacy Java codebase at some local bank or hospital.
Jack Allen
Not all of them. But any of them that has to do with culture is full of these disgusting faggots.
Sebastian Murphy
googl most definetly
Joshua Rivera
>get triggered by a sticker >works at netflix m8, you're the soyboy.
Josiah Roberts
enjoy working for social marxists kek
Angel Scott
yep, better than a racist fuck that doesnt care about people.
Wyatt Clark
>everyone that disagrees with my ideology is a racist Good boy. It doesn't surprise me the people working there are useful idiots.
Jaxson Evans
the r-word has no meaning anymore, communist fuckhead
Chase Rodriguez
never said i was a commie tho? Im just comparing extremes you dumb fuck.
Wyatt Walker
you don't have to say it, defending social marxism and falling back on "muh racism" paints a clear enough picture, commie scum
Owen Gutierrez
That's just not appropriate, if you're not lying maybe they actually are screening you with that. At my current company there's a general dislike of Trump but nobody is extreme and certainly not stupid enough to put antifa stickers on their laptops.
Sad, I wanted to work at Netflix once.
Andrew Reyes
All of my coworkers at the startup I work for agree that socialism is shit
if u unironically use soyboy as an insult then ur a soyboy urself
Ryan Nelson
It means you're a racist.
Tyler Robinson
then don't work for any modern corporation. You're absolutely right in thinking they are screening for like minded people; this is literally the job of someone hiring: to ensure that any new employee fits in with company culture and will get along. If you don't share their ideals, then don't join the company (not that you would even be given that opportunity if they are doing their jobs correctly)
Isaac Barnes
I thought companies hired on merit, how come?
Sebastian Murphy
that’s some double plus good newspeak my man
Austin Torres
> legacy Java codebase at some local bank or hospital The dream.
Mason Kelly
Was it a MacBook too? Soyboys use Apple products
Tyler Powell
Stages >1 Startup phase ultra capitalist >2 Critical mass start to corporatize >3 Post HR you must suck a woman's penis on demand or get blacklisted in tech
Ryan Baker
I unironically would be fine with a legacy job where my non-tech coworkers see me as a wizard-like figure and I am left to myself when working
Cooper Harris
>apply for job at sorosflix >surprised that they're communist pieces of trash What were you expecting?
>make up story online >people buy into it because it aligns with their worldview inttterrreessttinnggg
Liam Green
>everything I read on the internet is made up >I like going and pointing that out every single time post paypal so we can send 5 bucks and you can buy a life you pathetic loser
Hudson Cox
>everything I read on the internet is made up >one story === everything hmm doubling down on this is a very inttterreesstingg tactic
Dylan Sanchez
my bad, third thread I start reading and there's a faggot doing exactly that. At this point I hope it's the same deluded asshole
Isaac Martinez
>doubling down not him, but do you even know what that phrase means in the context of a discussion?
besides there's always at least one "hurr hurr it's not real!" comment on every single thread where someone shares a personal experience, to the point where it's perfectly reasonable for one to roll their eyes
Jaxson Sanchez
Imagine being so insecure that you feel targeted by stickers on someone's fucking laptop. Grow a pair.
Benjamin Gray
If I ever make a company I'll only hire people from gee or the chans in general. They have in group preferences so can we, hence why the office is filled with loli and Terry posters
Set up TOR and send an anonymous tip to the FBI that the employee tried to show you child pornography in an interview. 99% of the time it works every time.
Kayden Bennett
Netflix begin some best jobs on industry and 2 years of job will get you some nice money, stocks and good curriculum
William Nguyen
Use it as motivation to get a high position in these institutions to prevent them from holding power.
Christopher Roberts
Are you sure you arent just a TSR at salt lake city?
Landon White

Jackson Russell
SO YOURE PICKING WHAT NOT TO BELIEVE? IT'S NOT UNBIASED? EVIDENCE THAT YOU DON'T BELIEVE THIS BECAUSE IT DOESN'T "CONFORM TO YOUR WORLDVIEW".
Leo Davis
Infiltrate, and destroy
Lucas Reyes
I have GNU and communist stickers on my laptop. It's primarily to distinguish myself from the normies who wear Microsoft/Oracle fleece jackets and signal that I support freedom.
What's the problem?
Evan Fisher
Everyone is racist, some just more than others and there's nothing wrong with it
Blake Davis
Hey man. Same thing as when you posted this in /biz/. I dont give a fuck about your dumb blog. But how they hell do you guys get such good looking h264 encodes with such a small file size?
Leo Foster
communism isn't freedom it's the opposite
Evan Murphy
I honestly wouldn't care if my boss was massively racist, as long as it didn't affect the product. If he would start saying that women deserve less pay and that black people can't code or whatever, it wouldn't bother me that much to work for him. I honestly don't give a shit about what people think as long as they don't try to jam it down my throat.
Tyler Collins
Nice graphic design firm I assume you'll be only making logos?
Blake Johnson
all these fags have red roses in their twitter names now, screening companies to avoid companies filled with liberals takes ages
Not him but what is freedom anyway? You either have to help the community by doing your part or you have to focus on getting money to survive. Living in the wild would be freedom probably but you have to focus on feeding yourself every few hours, which probably takes all that few hours. Only people who win the lottery or something can just stop doing anything. It's a constant struggle to earn SOME kind of resources all your life so you won't die. At least communism would ensure everyone makes it (in theory that is, in practice there's always some power hungry dictator ready to take everything to himself and enslave others).
Jeremiah Anderson
Just ignore it. If I was a left leaning person and walked into a room of right wingers I would feel abit off but shrug it off as they are just people with different views.
Most places have a couple conservatives, far right nut jobs, far left nut jobs and liberals, if you are so scared of liberals, school them on the virtues of economic conservatism :)
Samuel Johnson
Would have worked for me since I'm commie scum but from way before it became mainstream.
John Nelson
>At least communism would ensure everyone makes it (in theory that is, in practice there's always some power hungry dictator ready to take everything to himself and enslave others). The Gulag doesn't sound like fun though. It's like Twitter running the state. Instead of a ban for wrongthink, you become a political prisoner. Enjoy your time in camp, comrade.
>At least communism would ensure everyone makes it
No, communism is about breaking down the capitalist social relation where everyone who works gets to decide what to do with their surplus labour. This is different to how capitalism works, where one class of people do work but another class might reap the surplus in the form of profits.
There is no guarantee that "everyone makes it". Only that there will be no "exploitation", i.e. capitalists hiring workers and profiting off their work. Workers will own their own profits and collectively decide what to do with it.
>It's really just about distribution of wealth. A more equitable wealth distribution is only a side-effect of the above, not the ultimate goal.
William Morris
>Friend works at a Fortune 500 company >Great salary, great benefits, good work environment >Complaints the living shit of every decision the company makes, because muh communism >Never leaves
I know the feeling
But I don't think it's nearly as bad as it would be on ThoughtWorks
Christian Robinson
you only say that because you are white, if you weren't you'd be more careful with stupid statements like that. i mean, i agree, but i'm also white, being white is great
Ian Gutierrez
OP can you share what kind of questions they asked and how you prepared for the interview?
>It's really just about distribution of wealth which means the government robs you blind and only allows you to have what you need to survive aka slavery
Imagine not even being able to work with people who have different political opinions without sperging out. Is this really what most Americans are like?
Daniel Turner
This kind of "left wing" ideology is more like a cult than a proper ideology. Would you like to work on a company where everyone is a scientologist, and they keep trying to either make you join the cult or pack your shit because "you're full of thetans"?
Christian Barnes
How did we get to a place where shit like this is mainstream? What is wrong with the tech industry?
It seems like most people do it to be "cool", and don't hold any strong convictions on the SJW/commie front so I'm thinking it'll blow over in a couple years but still
Josiah Morales
I already work with people who think some Arab 2000 years ago did all kinds of bizarre magic shit and that I'm going to live in eternal hell for not believing his mad sketchy teachings with literally zero evidence. You can just ignore opinions you think are wrong, it doesn't get in the way of work.
Joshua Hughes
>proceeds to kill everyone
Carter Ortiz
So literally no one knows what you really do right? I swear I'm just as likely to believe that legacy systems are maintained through ritual sacrifice and witchcraft than coding.
Tyler Collins
>you can ignore opinions you think are wrong which is why you're in here arguing with a bunch of anonymous people. dumbass. go drink bleach leftard
Bentley Hill
It's not about opinions but behaviors. From this specific cult you cited, would be like working with Jehovah's Witnesses on steroids.
Jose Rogers
>works for one of the biggest media conglomerates in the world >"communist" you should have laughed on him.
Joseph Collins
>go drink bleach leftard Your right wing seems equally cultish to your left wing. I just feel sorry for Americans having to fester in such a shit culture
Noah Martinez
>tfw my OnePlus One broke and the 2 and 3 just don't feel the same >I'm off the train from now on, waiting on a Gemini PDA coming in the mail
Jason Butler
>publicly-accessible areas full of stuff like Stallman and Terry >employee-only areas full of loli and other stuff that'd make normies recoil
>tfw no Sup Forums company to work for
Matthew Williams
But I’m racist BECAUSE I care about people (white people)
Connor Clark
This, I won't do it explicitly, but if I see someone who fits the Sup Forums archetype they will automatically be hired. I would sooner kill myself than preside over a silicon valley-tier faggots
why the fuck do we have so many commies in Sup Forums?
Nicholas Bennett
>Half satan telling devious half truths Being white is still great. The reason why it's still great is because there are still a lot of majority white states/countries that are a joy to live in. Mostly because everyone is white and white people are good at ignoring each other and minding their own damn business while giving the appearance of caring.
But there are downsides to being white for sure. One of those downsides is that for a lot of technical jobs you will be passed over for a "multicultural candidate", even if your skills are superior. This is no Nazi conspiracy theory; the people practicing these policies are quite open about their racist ideology. Calling their bullshit directly is useless, they have white critique armor. No white person can criticize any non-white individual without being called racist, but anyone can say anything about any white person or the white race as a whole with impunity.
It's said that the ones who hold the real power are the ones you cannot criticize.
You can support free software and not be a communist. I mean all tech corporations use and contribute free software
Jackson Nelson
>proceeds to ask technical questions
If he only asked interview questions, why do you care? It's a fucking sticker. He didn't say "You have to provide proof that you voted for Bernie". If he didn't otherwise mention his political beliefs and suggest you should follow them, why are you concerned about it?
Jose Davis
> all tech corporations use and contribute free software > > soyboy engineering manager enters room, puts his work laptop on table > > giant communist/ANTIFA-like sticker on laptop
Adam Peterson
>Just ignore that they all subscribe to the most evil ideology ever concieved bro
>some dude has a left sticker on his laptop >Sup Forums whines that they can't work at Netflix because "Wah! muh feelings! you're all commies!"
This is why the soyboy insult is so ironic. It's just manchildren calling others weaker manchildren. Maybe you don't drink soy, but I bet you enjoy vain hobbies just as much as they do, like video games or political shitposting.
Matthew Wood
>MUH communism is evil >better dead than red is this the fucking 1950s? grow the fuck up.
Jeremiah Sanders

Aiden Johnson
??? so has there been any new revelations that vindicate communism, absolving it of being the absolute biggest piece of shit ideology that killed hundreds of millions? didn't think so
