there are infinitely cooler desks out there that you can use
they are generally better than meme table desks for cord management as well so you wouldn't have to be a fag and hide them with your drapes

unless you're reading moon runes in the traditional top to bottom, right to left format, then this is just silly. 65 to 75 characters is the ideal width of a line for reading any horizontally formatted text. 90 degree rotated 4:3 or 5:4 monitors are ideal for actual work.

What DAW do you use with your controller? I want to find a good controller for game development so I can write my own music and use FL-Studio 12 as the DAW.

No, my neck does not hurt. My eyes are four inches above the middle bezel when sitting at a proper posture. Barely any neck movement is necessary.

nice lego Saturn V.
I always like your setup, user
very comfortable looking
what the fuck is that orange thing
You should try to edit the vertical portion of your wallpaper so that it fits with the horizontal portion. Would look really great.

Attached: Battlestation.jpg (2016x1512, 2.17M)

>what the fuck is that orange thing
meant to be directed at

I use Ableton to write the music, and Pro Tools to mix/master. I don't have Pro Tools on this computer so I use my uni music tech lab to mix/master, which is ideal anyways because they have proper monitors.

You can use any controller with any DAW but I'd recommend something other than FL Studio because I find it's too simple. If you really want to stick with FL then learn Pro Tools too, since it's an industry standard and any studio you go to for mixing/mastering will have Pro Tools by default.

Every single thread and people still reply to it

Messy, potential for a nice space if you clean up and organize

I'm fine with everything except the massive Apple logo canvas. What the fuck is that? rest is equivalent to a self-employed office

+points for poster of your actual doggo
-points for wall colors, beige/brown is not the way to go.

Good everything except the sound system. Ditch the shitty logitech and get something worth using and it will be a very nice setup.

I use that phone at work because it links to software that records all phone calls, why do you have it at home? If you're self employed that all makes sense

I'm actually mainly trying to fullstack indie dev myself, I'm not looking for a studio job. You'd recommend pro-tools as the better workstation though? I don't have any allegiance or buy-in on FL-Studio yet I just heard that it was a good workstation and the price/benefits seemed reasonable. I'm honestly kind of taking on trying to learn a lot of different stuff at once and I might be a little over my head but if I'm going to be learning stuff I want to try and give myself the best chance possible by having tools and equipment that are suitable for beginners but are also reasonable near-professional standards.

This is the controller I wanted because the reviews seemed good and I liked what I saw in the video reviews I saw. It also is good for cross training piano which is a huge bonus for me.
amazon.com/M-Audio-Hammer-88-Hammer-Action-Controller/dp/B0714D3DVN

Do I need anything besides PRO-Tools and the actual controller? Is there an interface I need to get that goes between the PC and the controller? I also plan on getting a ShureSM58 for vocal recording however I think I'm even more lost in that department than in getting a midi controller. Pretty much I want to be able to.
>do digital art (I have drawing tablets and am reasonably knowledgeable in this department)
>make music (instrumental and vocals, I don't currently own any instruments though) I also don't really have a great environment set up for audio recording which could negatively impact my vocal recording more than whatever type of mic I eventually decide on getting.

2010 era apple was extremely comfy. If Jobs was still alive, apple really could have been the future.

>I'm not looking for a studio job
Most studios will allow you access to their equipment on an hourly basis, in which you can mix/master your music on your own. I highly recommend this because they have the proper equipment to do mixing and mastering (monitors, soundboard, software with plugins, etc.)

>Is there an interface I need to get that goes between the PC and the controller?
Preferable but not necessary. Most MIDI controllers can go straight into your PC through USB, but that can cause latency between your input and the software on the PC. If you want to have your controller and a mic plugged in at the same time, I would definitely consider getting an interface.

>digital art
This is entirely different, and will use different hardware and software for development.

>don't really have a great environment set up for audio recording
Another reason to rent time at a studio. Their sound booths are more than sufficient to get a good recording, and audio recordings are best handled on Pro Tools anyways. Make your music track first on whatever DAW, then take to a studio for recording/mixing/mastering.

Looks exactly what I'd imagine an average Sup Forums lurking gaymur to make his desk look like.

That's it I'm making my own desk. Buying prebuilt desks is too fucking expensive.

Buying a solid door slab(not hollow) and metal pipe legs cut to custom height might be a cheaper alternative and of course you get to stain/finish how you like to.

not much, just it being loud as fuck when on. i'm not sure what exactly to do with it, since i cannot use it as a home server in this configuration. would like to put up a simple website (design / dev portfolio), matrix.im node, maybe owncloud and such through vpn, but to loud and 60 eurobucks/mo for keeping it in a datacenter is jus to much.

I'd be worried about the dual radiator systems like yours, but temps seem okay though.

I have the top fan as an intake for this very reason. I bought a dust filter for it don't worry.

Not a richfag, but I like to game and am a retro enthusiast. Currently in the process of moving & organizing my hoard.

I wanted a space where I could have my modern system and retro system(s) set up in tandem. After considering a bunch of different options I decided to buy 2 used cubicle setups and configure them to my liking. They have modular power and networking receptacles which will keep things things nice and tidy, plus there's a plethora of accessories I can add basically on demand like shelving/lighting/etc. And as it stands now I have 18 feet of desk space.

Just completed putting them together this weekend. Pic related 1/2 (blocked out my kids faces)
