Geforce 6800

Attached: CardB.jpg (800x410, 104K)

Fucking loved this thing, had the 8mb version with the memory card not pictured on this model

Played Halflife for hours on end on that shit

ATi 3DRage or something.

Whatever was on the optiplex 210L. I played cs 1.6 and some SLOW ASS gmod 9 and hl2

Attached: VICII.jpg (1959x1031, 586K)

mine was 3dfx voodoo 2

some Trident ISA card. Get off my lawn

Matrox Mystique 220

I still have it somewhere, I think
It had an incredibly sharp image but otherwise was kind of meh

Attached: MatroxMystique220-4MB-card.jpg (1011x722, 484K)

Matrox chips were meh all round.
It was their cards that were something else - compare the output stages just before the VGA connector on your picture to
Matrox had the best picture quality because they didn't cheap the fuck out like everyone else.

nvidia TNT2 with 16MB of VRAM

Diamond Viper PCI, Weitek Power9000 svga chip. (ca 1993-94)

First 3D graphics card was a Voodoo2 (Diamond) that used a passthru cable. I had to return it due to overheating issues.

The passthru cable very noticeably degraded the vga signal of my regular graphics card.

pic related, not sure which is the right model of rage pro though

Attached: rage2c4mb_fhq[1].jpg (1600x865, 489K)

Huh, I guess I never really considered how they did it, but it certainly was sharp

I was using that card as late as 2012 I think, because the SFF Lenovo Thinkcentre I was using only had one monitor output and I wanted dualhead. Moving a putty window between screens you could really see the difference in sharpness

Moving from the Mach32 to a 3D accelerator was the best thing.

I had some VESA board originally than I moved to ISA don't remember what they were. I think my first PCI was an S3. My first one I bought was a Creative Labs TNT.

I'm not overlly old either, millinial even. But I was poor and yet some in my family had a clue on how important computing would become so I got used stuff pretty early and got my feet wet on the older stuff.

guillemot maxi gamer cougar

kek, mine was a custom build with AMD K6-2 450mhz, that ATi card, 96mb RAM and 10gb drive, MSI MS-5169 board. Loved that damn thing to bits, before I retired it I had it up to 256mb RAM, 30gb drive, K6-2+ 550 @ 615mhz and Voodoo 5500 AGP

GMA 950 reporting in

My dad had to go to our Software Etc. to get a driver that forced CGA/EGA games to run on this, since it was his work computer, but in comparison to both, monochrome on a decent monitor looked a lot better/crisper

XFX 7600gt. Somehow fit it inside an Optiplex GX270, the one where the case opened by pressing the two side buttons and opening like a car hood.
With the card in, the case didn't close fully, kek. Played a lot of 20 fps WoW on that bad boy.

He could be using one right now
L-luckily I'm not haha

op's card came out in 2002, try again idiot.

8400gs

played sonic all stars racing transformed on it, very well optimized game imo

First video card S3 Trio
First 3d accelerator card S3 Savage 4
Then Riva TNT2 M64 32mb my brother bought on his own.
First gpu I bought myself was 7300gs lol.
With my own money was Radeon 4830 512mb.

My last graphics card

R7 360

Trident TVGA8900 1Mb ISA

Slow as fuck, was jelly of Tseng ET4000 friend had.

HD 3200

nvidia geforce gt 430

Radeon 6870
stopped all the gayming shit like 5 years ago, so I might as well rip it out of there and use the internal graphics though. I'm just a lazy fuck.

Riva TNT 2. The next one was radeon 9700.
Kids these days don't know what difference actually means.

Navi will be with us soon :3

GeForce 4 MX 4000

Slow piece of shit; worst part was there was a spare GeForce3 lying around and lack of internet/PC mags meant that I had no idea that I had a free upgrade in my own home

Attached: neomagic_magicmedia256AV_piece.jpg (1600x1407, 492K)

Can anyone beat me? It was 2.5 MB

Attached: IMG_6457.jpg (1280x960, 542K)

Trident TVGA 9000i 512kB
Still have one in stock for some reason (but not this my first)

Attached: tvga9000i_f[1].jpg (4296x2795, 1.36M)

8500GT boiiiiiii

I remember getting it to 103 C, playing Gmod.

I then got some case fans and had them blowing air over it.

Fun times

forgot image :^)

Attached: 14-125-065-09.jpg (640x480, 37K)

I forgot which card I had in my computer with a Pentium 120 MMX, the earliest card I can remember is the S3 Virge PCI

ATI HD 4450 passively cooled I think it was.
My dad ran an IT shop yet didn't want me to have anything good in my own computer.

Pic related, came with a Sperry 3070 XT in 1985. Back in my day resolution was measured in characters, not pixels. Now get the fuck off my lawn you limp wristed milksops, with your fancy voxel shading and your 4K faggotry. A real man only needs 80x25 and a good, solid woman to lay into from time to time.

Attached: Mitsubishi_WECD3.jpg (3620x2188, 1.38M)

served me well
still have it somewhere too

Attached: gts250.jpg (640x480, 25K)

hi oldtimer post more pics
is there a body in that barrel

>Implying he lives in Snowtown

NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 till 2003

on 2nd box i got, i believe something ATI with 8MB of memory, i really don't know

it ran things doom releases, jetmoto, roller coaster tycoon, but was flickering and shitting itself when attempting to play a 5 minute long 320x240 avi video in fullscreen on windows 98 classic media player

i was growing up on late 80s to mid-90s vidya in early 2000s (no interwebs until 2007, the very first computer i got in 2000 didn't even have a sound card or cd/dvd drive. however i think it made pc speaker noises for wolf3d and doom1&2)

Attached: 14-133-246-11(2).jpg (1280x960, 91K)

Have a guts shot. That's a 21MB HDD, which, last time I checked, still has my old uni work on it. PSU shat the bed last time I tried to fire it up but it still works on an external supply.

Eh, us ausfags are all seconds away clicking and going full Milat. You would be too if your entire country and everything therein was trying to kill you.

Something S3 ISA
A card good enough to have ran Wolf 3d at the time and Doom at low detail smoothly.

First card that I bought with my own cash was a Geforce 5770 LE... I hated the thing so much (128bit DDR RAM was swapped with 64bit SDRAM)

>pc game controller adapter
what does this do

Riva tnt2 16mb

Adds a joystick port, presumably

PCs used to have those before USB

STB Velocity 128. 4MB ram with nVidia Riva 128 GPU.

Attached: 904e_1.jpg (400x295, 26K)

Sapphire R9 390. There hasn't been any reason to upgrade yet.

Nvidia Riva TNT

this pice of shit

Attached: SiS6326agp_pine_fhq.jpg (2000x1457, 1.81M)

I know that feel.
>no opengl, ever

yeah...i remember like it was yesterday, i was 12 years old and have a Compaq presario with a Cyrix MII and 64mb ram, and I had spent all my money on a video card to be able to play half-life decently. I was obviously cheated.

Attached: image.jpg (851x560, 56K)

First one I can actually remember what it was

Attached: gt320.png (551x346, 194K)

Via something integrated graphics

Temps were always 99c
Still ran like a champ

The 3Dfx Voodoo2

Attached: voodoo2hisfb.jpg (1600x813, 261K)

Some dinky 2mb VRAM pos from STB.

First upgrade was two of these motherfuckers:

Attached: s-l1600.jpg (979x979, 170K)

Evga Gtx 460 v1
15 year old me pretty well
> Friend's parents bought him parts for a gaming PC
> 460 v1 was the gpu
> He spends a bit of his own money for a second 460 for sli back when it wasn't as big of a meme
> Buys a v2 .. not a v1
> Parents just buy him another v2 and he sells me the v1 for like 80 bucks
> Slap it into a shit desktop I had at home with a phenom x4 (not phenom ii ... just phenom)
> Bottleneck to 1000000 but can run BF3 on medium until I get my phenom ii x4 965
Good memories.. Always jealous though that all my friends parents just bought them their PCs and I had to nig-rig mine together until I got a job

Served 15 year old me pretty well*

Attached: 198.jpg (670x350, 51K)

Voodoo 3 2000 is the first I remember. I also think it's the first VGA card I had which can be considered a "graphics card". I had cards before that one, don't remember what they were but we used to call them "video cards" (like "sound cards") not "graphics" cards.
