If Sup Forums made CloverOS real, maybe, it's possible to make Sup Forums Desktop Environment?
What features could it have?
What libs should it use?

>terminal only
>no GUI except for displaying hentai
You can display hentai into framebuffer.
"It seems you're attempting to be productive.
Would you like to rice your desktop instead?"
My favourite part of these UIs is how much they squeeze into such a small screen space.
"Screen real estate" has always been a case of design, not screen size or resolution as people would have you believe.
>Sup Forums Desktop Environment
Just use xfce
>xfce
You mean the "minimal" DE that uses more resources now than Windows 7?
what's a good 95-esque distro or DE? i've got this old thinkpad i'd like to have linux on.
>xfce
Just use openbox
>Sup Forums
>desktop environment
I mean the single one available sane DE for Linux
Window Maker
>the only "sane" DE for Linux has the features of Win95, but the system requirements of Windows 10
Really makes me think.
>me think
Try harder
IceWM with some dank windows theme.
CloverOS is just a dangerously riced Gentoo install script
I guess Sup Forums could take GNOME and install anime wallpapers on it and call it Sup ForumsNOME or something
I use MATE
Daily reminder that Windows 98 was much comfier than 2000.
>Windows 98 was much comfier than 2000.
How? They were the same in terms of UI.
I tried to install it yesterday and i didn't see any DE option to choose, so after installation cloverOS booted without any DE ofcourse and only a terminal was displayed. Anyone knows how to deal with this shit? Why there was now DE option in the installation?
I guess you must install DE afterwards
you're wrong I guess. screen size and resolution affect design, it's not merely a scaling problem: the number of element in a UI can't be proportional to screen or you end up with something that "feels" clunky and disorganized
A different icon set and some other graphics (2k was more "corporate", while 98 was more "family oriented" and "friendly").
FVWM95
>2k was more "corporate"
Why, WHY did you say that again?
I miss plain and utilitarian design of that time.
They say history goes in circles, but I lost my hope if we are going to have such design ever again.
I guess Sup Forumstards never really tried this shit. I saw a youtube video of cloverOS installation and there was THE FUCKING option for DE.
I didn't, I am fine with Noobuntu.
I like were this is going
Multiplexers like GNU Screen are tiling wm for the terminal, we just need a better file manager than ranger that can display thumbnails on the framebuffer and that's it. Plenty of programs can display pictures, ebooks and play videos on the framebuffer.
All I know is that it should use GNUSTEP as it's toolkit.
GTK
not 3
GNU/Windows
Bullshit
The best thing Sup Forums can do is port ReactOS WM and Explorer to X11.
You can make FVWM look like anything. There's no need to install DEs, let's make and share .fvwm2rc files
>using not anti-aliased text in menus and everywhere but CONSOLE (and, probably everywhere else as well, like, browsers)
Fucking poser
>Using a DE
Why use cloveros when you can just install gentoo?
cuz just installing gentoo takes manual effort and i've already done it dozens of times already so i made cloveros
recreate the puppy desktop and repackage is as a metapackage
>What libs should it use?
Tcl/Tk
>not using a set of programs perfectly tailored to work together
>implying Sup Forums will ever decide on a desktop environment
hnnng
das it mane
What are the compilation flags
>2 browser windows (without tabs) and a tox is open
>3 Gigs of memory is already in use
How?
it definitely needs i3wm, by default, but an optional no-gui version
I'd base it on TAILS os, with the ability to disable or modify security features to enable better/faster functionality, as well as tools to build more security on top of TAILS itself.
Q4OS.
i have a lot of shite on other desktops
just use windowmaker
clean, classic UI
lots of features, still light as fuck
both easy to use and decently configurable
