Just got this for my birthday, its fucking shit...

Just got this for my birthday, its fucking shit. Really thought a PCIe wireless card would be an improvement to this tiny TPLINK dongle but I'm getting less that 1mbps. Can anyone advise an internal wireless card that actually works? This ones just disappointing :(

maybe you just have a bad router, i have the same adapter and i get 100mbps. i used to get only 10mbps when i used the shitty router/modem box my isp gave me.

m8...

>WiFi on desktop pc
Just run a cable faggot

Go AC or LAN

Return it and use the credit towards a better card. Whoever bought this for you literally went as cheap as possible. TPLink is good, but this card is budget as fuck.

lol who buys N

I'd recommend the T9E if the piece of shit didn't die on me after a month of use.
I sent it back to the retailer asking for another one but they just offered me a refund, so took it and bought a T4U (USB 3 dongle) and it's working just fine.

>I'm getting less that 1mbps

A number of things can be wrong here and a brand new PCIe wireless card is probably none of them

What's dis?

I just took this card out of my desktop last night. Get something else OP

Install Arch

I have the same one.
Pulling 20Mbps flawlessly.
The blottlenech is my data plan, not the card.

Yours might be deffective. Have you installed the appropiate drivers?

Get proper drivers faggot, reference for whatever chipset

Get proper router firmware faggot

Get proper WiFi channels (1, 6, or 11) faggot

Get proper antenna and router orientation and placement faggot

Finally take this shit back because it doesn't support 5ghz faggot get some 5ghz or run a wire, faggot

and throw ur moms old laptop out a window faggot

haha i have the same and it IS shit

got another one and everything is ok

I have this exact same one. It's fine for me. Initially it bluescreened my Windows 7 installation when it did more than just the 1mbps downloads/uploads. But after installing the correct drivers from the site manually, it worked like a charm. Didn't require me to install those drivers on a clean Windows 10 install.

I bought that very network card back in 2012. No idea how much that matters, I still use it today, and its retard fast (good). Positive it's not your connection speeds?

made a similar mistake, only years ago and with three antennas. for desktop im back to wire and heard dongles are better because of flexible placement.

>Just got this for my birthday
that's fucking sad, don't you have anyone that cares for you user? I mean that gives you a proper gift

yeah man. I had all sorts of driver issues with this piece of shit

bullshit, especially if you do any sort of local file transfers.

AC or LAN
theres no other option

This user is onto something. We have an ISP issued modem/router and our own router (for various reasons, it's complicated) and I have a similar PCIe card but only with 1 antenna. Now the interesting thing is that if I connect to our own TP-LINK router, the connection is garbage, no matter what I do (channel, placement, anything). However if I connect to the ISP's router, the connection is fast and rock solid.

>massive heat sink
>what is power efficiency?

Unironically my OG Moto G with USB Tethering outperforms all of these dongles and Wi-Fi cards in my home network.

Network Card

If you're not getting 50Mbps then you also have a shitty router.

I have the USB version of that TP-Link and I can hit 50Mbps of my 100Mbps fiber connected to an AC router.

The only upside over using pci-e wlan cards over usb is latency. And only with proper drivers. And if you care that much about 20ms latency you are either a gamer or a placebofag. In both cases you're better off using a cable instead.

Who would win? $500 router or $5 cable?

Just run a fucking cable from router to computer you dipshit. It will be faster, more reliable and cheaper as well.

With heatsink technology. Wow, holy fuck that thing is probably so fast it should be illegal.

I have the same card and I call bs like That said, it is a decent card and it's been fast and reliable.

>wireless N
Found your problem. Take that card back to Goodwill where they probably found it and get something modern.

dont get internal jackass; external usb is better in everyway

fuckin noob

just get an external with an external antenna. pic related is one of the best, and its really fuckin cheap

to re-iterate, internal pci wifi cards are fuckin gay
