I just installed and switched to this font yesterday. Was using a bitmap oldschool IBM font before, so for me it is kind of a compromise between that style and something that is easier on the eyes.

Ligatures don't work for me with the otf fonts on sublime text. Do I have to do anything special to get it working?

bog-standard(ish) terminus in the terminal, fuck if I know in emacs, idea, etc

I think for this one you have to mess with it some. They don't work out of the box. Same for Emacs, too, but even Fira Code doesn't support ligatures out of the box in Emacs.

Fira works without issues on sublime, this one doesn't. I tried both otf and ttf. I'm on windows by the way, no, it's a work machine, I can't change it.

I /hate/ Inconsolata. It's nice but it's nowhere near my top five, and I think it gets too much hype.
Plex Mono, Anonymous Pro, and Fira Code (Retina) are way better.
