Greatest and most influential band ever

Overrated by hipsters, underrated by the general public.

Rated

I think they're a good band, I just don't enjoy them as much as a lot of people seem to. I don't know why Queen is Dead is considered one of the greatest albums of all time. Morrissey is a good lyricist and vocalist

morrisey gonna die soon :(

Overrated and overall worse than The Cure. Their hit is their Best song. Morrissey seems to be worse than Lou Reed.

Used to only listen too queen is dead but now I don't even like that
The smiths is much better hateful of hollow also
butthis tbqh they should have been a bigger hit along side the dumbass le wrong generation kids who suck off pink floyd and nirvana

but yeah I love them

possibly the best pop act of all time

>Sucked of floyd

Rightfully so nigga.

The premier rock act of the 1980's

Easily the most sincere and fearless songwriting, the Jangle Pop style was a byproduct of their unique sound, not the soul of it.

The joyful pickup and upbeat nature of the soundscape is a perfect antithesis to the haunting and dismay of the lyrics- anytime you have that kind of contrast executed well you've got a virtual open book of memorable harmonies and melodies.

Out of their discography, there are numerous tracks which are globally known, critically praised, academically interesting, and emotionally charged. These tracks simply cannot belong to any other artist. This is one of the largest compliments I believe any artist can earn. They're one of my favorite artists of all time.

>Their hit is their best song

Literally volumes of "hits".

>and in the darkened underpass I thought oh god my chance has come at last
>but then a strange fear gripped me and I just couldn't ask

Morrissey/Marrs are the best songwriters of the 80's

look at this try hard bait

They are an excellent band.
But for me Morrisey solo albums are better.

Great, a shame they stopped so early.

I really Want to like the band but its too often "meh" for me.

'Well I Wonder' is a gem of a song

Old man here. They were great, saw them twice. Once were shit, early on. Two years later, an incredible joyful two thousand strong mosh that reminded me of punk rock.

I rarely listen to them now, some great songs but too much of it's time for me.

Extremely underrated as far as 80's music goes.

I feel like they could've made so much more material if Morrissey wasn't such a cunt tho

Bunch of pansies, and i love listening to them so much

I bet you listen to Radiohead and Kanye West

So so so enjoyable to listen to. Probably one of the only bands that my parents and I have in common too.

This is one of their best, and it's a 7" b side.

definitely one of the bands where you either dislike them or love them
there is no middle ground

morrissey is a twat, but aren't we all

are you in England?

yes

Sup Forums should listen to Meat is Murder. Underrated.

This is a great English/US hybrid.

One of the best bands to come out of the UK.

definitely in my top 10 favorite bands

I can't wait until that faggot Morrissey dies

They were a great band. Not really my kind of music, but I appreciate the lyricism and Marr's guitar work. Unfortunately they paved the way for Britpop and a lot of really bad modern indie pop.

>underrated by the general public
Unless I'm just surrounded by hipsters, they seem to be a band that's unanimously loved by the general public.

>The Cure
>Lou Reed
There's no musical reason to make these comparisons.

>the Jangle Pop style was a byproduct of their unique sound, not the soul of it.

I don't think you know much about jangle pop honestly
