If I get banned on Sup Forums do I need to clear the cache aswel or just change the ip?

what is the insertion rating for usb 1/2/3 regular connectors ? not the micro or mini just the regular old usb

All videos on the internet are lagging after windows 10 reinstall, what do? it's like the frame per second is 4/5 what it should be.

What does one need to research for a qualifying CVE?

>insertion rating

reset you router to change IP, assuming your ISP assigns dynamic IPs

some pictures because its faster to load it on vola also im not sure what you need to see volafileorg/r/hdjh3ukm

how many times you can remove and reinsert a usb before the connector starts to fail

lol I highly doubt there's a limit on usb insertions

That's probably going to vary wildly depending on the quality of the cable. Also by "regular" you mean type-a

Which tablet has the highest amount of ram right now?

The one truth of usb cables is that manufacturers will make them just as shitty as they want to, standards be damned.

Best way to 'virus scan' your phone?

Do I download a phone app to do this or would I be better off scanning it with PC software?

Going slooooooooow, man

didn't know that
cheers

Besides unbound, dnscrypt and dnssec
What other LEDE plugins should I install if I want to maximize the security on my router?

Thanks.

Would a PC scan be worthwhile?

I would be pretty surprised if you could get your pc to scan anything over MTP connection. The only files that should really be any risk to your phone anyway is pirated apps.

But it's just so fucking slow

Since I went on porn ONCE

Probably placebo. Porn browsing isn't even high risk like it used to be.

IDK what version of android you're using. There are more exploits that exist for the old version, but using a current browser helps. More likely it's the other apps you've installed weighing it down.

OK, thanks

I changed my motherboard and cpu. After installing Windows 7 i noticed only 1 of my usb ports works properly. When plugged to the other ports, mouse feels laggy and the media keys on my keyboard won't work. I've installed usb drivers and mobo is msi z370 gaming m5

>update Xubuntu to 17.10
>grub suddenly fucked up
>won't boot manjaro anymore
>have separate boot partition
So how do I fix this?

Attached: 1519637885441.jpg (865x720, 175K)

What error are you getting?

Install the USB 3.0 drivers. Also don't use an unsupported OS for your motherboard/CPU.

Ferrite beads are your friend.

There are a few 16GB ones, current Surface Pro, Thinkpad X1, HP Elite X2, Wacom MobileStudio all have 16GB variants. Don't know of any 32+GB models.

Yes

Install your GPU drivers.

That's not a question, professor.

How do I extract the EC and UEFI images from the .ROM file from an update from a Lenovo G575 (4383)? Machine powers on but won't even post (no beeps when I remove memory or HDD), and can't restore firmware by putting the file on a memory stick and powering on with Fn+B held down, so I think the only option left is via flashrom on a rPi and a SOIC clip on the BIOS chip. (I say BIOS but it's really UEFI - InsydeH20). ROM file should be exactly 2048K I would have thought, but it's 2176K - presumably 2048K for the UEFI image and 128K for the EC image - but how to split them so I can flash them seperately?

>kernel panic-not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs
Could xubuntu installed its own grub file and now the bootloader wants to look at that? Because it completely changed what it looked like too.

>Could xubuntu installed its own grub file and now the bootloader wants to look at that? Because it completely changed what it looked like too.
Yes, the Xubuntu installer will have installed its own GRUB.

Easiest way to restore the GRUB configuration is to boot up a live USB of whatever distro, chroot into the root partition of the distro you want, run grub-install

Is it going to do that any time it upgrades? I was upgrading from 17.04 to 17.10. If it does, is there a way to prevent it in the future so I don't have to do this?

What is your email?

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
etc.

Which do you see most people use?

Change your grub configuration in /etc/default/grub to match what you want, then that'll get applied whenever the upgrade happens.

Personally I'd rather get rid of GRUB entirely and just use rEFInd.

I use three main accounts
[email protected] as primary
[email protected] for work/education related stuff
[email protected] for stuff I don't trust google with.

Never heard of it. Why do you choose it over grub?

None the less I don't want it to keep looking at the grubs on the xubuntu partition but the boot partition I made.

I've been using mpc-hc for my animu needs but now that it's no longer updated i need a new player. Which one should i chose vlc or mpv? I've heard that vlc recently got huge update and no longer shit, is that true? I've tried it like 5 or 6 years ago and i got pixelated mess when i tried to watch anime. Is this fixed now?
And about mpv - i don't really like to configure shit in config files. Its not hard, i'm just THAT lazy so i prefer gui. Does mpv has proper gui yet?

I like it for the simplicity. Everything in one single FAT32 partition, so I can fiddle with it from any OS if necessary. Plain text configuration files only, and nothing in each particular distro/OSes partition, nothing gets overwritten in any OS updates.

Ignore that last sentence, I'm not sure what I was thinking.

I might look into it. Is it easy to install?

What's a Sup Forums approved alternative to CCleaner (if that's not good enough)?

nvm i got bleachbit

I put 1.5v RAM into a 1.35v slot, and now my laptop doesn't start, the power button just blinks with an 8 second period. Did I fuck it permanently?

[email protected] as actual email account but i dont give it to anyone or register to any account, just for logging into my email account and i created a couple of alias for other uses. If something happened ill just remove the alias and create a new one.

You did take the RAM out afterwards, right user?

Reset your ip after you make the against the rules post but before the mods catch it.

Yes, I'm only 50% retarded. I tried rebooting with the original ram, still doesn't work

What size are motherboard standoffs and what thread do they use? I ordered some nylon ones thinking I'd ordered the right size and turns out the threaded male end is too thin for the motherboard tray.

It also turns out motherboard standoffs allow you mobo to ground with your case, so nylon is a bad choice

They won't all be nylon. I have an X9SRA motherboard. It's a 2011 socket workstation board. That will be going into an Fractal Design R5. Some of the holes line up. Some do not. The nylon standoffs are simply for the holes that do not line up, to provide support and prevent stress when laid flat, et cetera.

Should be M3, or 6-32 thread, looks like it's case specific. I would go M3, since it's a Euro company. I'm amazed you found smaller than M3

>carries data but no power
those exist?

Stock Ryzen 3 1300x, 8gb 2133mhz ram, crucial ssd, a320m mobo, Gtx1080ti.

Which upgrade would be best, 16gb 3000mhz ram OR a ryzen 5/7? (will eventually upgrade both, but which is better for right now)

So I have this old ass external hard drive with some files and I can only access it using Ubuntu on a usb drive.
I want to copy the files in this hard drive to my computer while keeping the original created date of the folders.
I tried just copying it normally at first and it changed the date of creation for all of the folders to the day I copied it once I viewed the files.

callisto!

Is there a git client that will let me point at a local repository hosted on a synology nas, rather than force me into signing up for some web-based service?

Start with RAM. I assume you do vidya gaem, modern ones can utilize a lot of RAM.

>Does mpv has proper gui yet?
smplayer supports mpv since ages.

How much time do you need to learn JavaScript/HTML5/CSS3 (not complete mastery but decent level) compared to a programming language like Java or Python?

That being said I live in the very few countries that use the family name first, given name second order.

Apparently whilst updating java the other day my 32bit installation got fucked over and now i can't start RSSOwl anymore thanks to this. On sourceforge there's a thread saying that RSSOwl needs 32bit java to run so i assume this is the problem.

When trying to get the Java SE Runtime Environment 8u162/161 from the oracle page i get this message though after accepting the license agreement and clicking the link;

>We're sorry, the page you requested was not found.

... Anyone know where i can find a working 32bit installer for java? I really need this RSS reader to work

How do I operate windows at peak efficiency?

Attached: hello reddit.jpg (1508x1493, 437K)

Got it to work again now by simply re-installing JRE8 32bit

wew

I'm using Win10, and 7zip has had this strange bug for a while where if I click & drag while a scrollbar is present, the mouse goes all over the fucking place.

Is there anything I can do about it? Do I need to stop using 7zip? If so what's a good alternative?

If I uninstall the modern apps from Windows 10, for example using this script some here suggest: community.spiceworks.com/scripts/show/3977-windows-10-decrapifier-version-2. Will the apps come back if I update the system?

generic weekly updates: no
"refreshing" windows: yes
function updates (such as anniversary, creators etc): yes

Thanks mate, I'm not that triggered by the apps' mere existence so I'll probably just leave them as long as I can get the tiles off Start.

What's the benefit of Debian testing over Ubuntu server minimal install?

Is there a way of making xmplayer visualizer plugins work in winamp aswell

Building a new pc, for a cousin so don't care about going super ham on it.

Should I get DDR3 or DDR4 ram?

DDR3 is outdated, DDR4 is the new standard

Anyone have recommendations for a lightweight messaging app for Android 4.4.2? The default one blows, it's overly condensed into a tiny column with faces on either side of the text.

I would like something that's simple, it doesn't need any bullshit memery and emojis.

You are forced to use DDR4 ram.

>Never had anything close to a gaming rig before until now
>Scared to put settings above anything other than "trash" in case I break something

How do I graphics without melting my GPU?

Buy one of those i5 prebuilt computers from Ebay for like 100 bucks. The price of 1 DDR4 stick is half the price of that whole system.

The worst thing that can happen is your game runs poorly. Crank that shit up and see how it runs. If it seems like it's flickering or hanging, it's not about to explode. Just lower the settings and try again.

I thought this might be the only issue, the stuttering and/or hanging, but then someone told me if I go all out it'll cause damage to the GPU. I'll do what you said though and see how it goes.
I know it's probably the most obvious thing in the world, but should I install something like fraps to keep an eye on the temperature or am I still being too dramatic?

Probably not necessary. But if you are curious, CPUID's HWMonitor is free and works very well.

your GPU has plenty of fail safes and will shut off automatically if it gets too hot.

Sometimes playing at lower settings can be worse if you end up getting something like 300fps and your GPU starts rendering at the speed of light

im finding recursive functions very hard due to difficulty in comprehending what's happening in memory

what do?

Draw pictures. Use a good IDE that lets you step through and see all the shit in memory, like Visual Studio. I despise M$ with a passion, but VS is a stellar piece of software. It just takes 3 hours to boot.

Use one of those advanced GPU tuning tools (afterburner for MSI, GPU tweak for Asus and precision for EVGA etc)

Based. Thanks a lot, gang, I'll get on this shit.

For what use case? First of all for a Debian server I would definitely run stable unless I had a reason to run testing. Beyond that, I guess the question really boils down to if you need something in Ubuntu that isn't in Debian. I don't need anything beyond what Debian offers, so I use that. Ubuntu definitely has more packages installed by default and probably more available, plus things like community ppas being more commonly used.

Ubuntu server doesn't install the bloat though. Debian stable is painfully out of date with most packages.

What happens when I take a ar code and white out a few black squares? Is the data a mess or completely illegible?

I just got a new computer and I am looking for a good torrent client. I was using deluge but it's been a year since its last update. What should I use now?

Also, are there any decent free VPNs? I'm short on cash until next month.

I havn't slept for 18 hours and I absolutely cannot focus but I need to get this done

im too tired to see where I'm going wrong with this

even though it's more work being done, running a game on low on a shitbox at an unsync'd 40fps is more strain on the hardware than running on high at vsync'd 60fps
the reason is that the former is working 100% of the time, while the latter is only working as much as needed to do 60fps
basically, if you want to keep load
