Neglect listening to particular song/album for years

>neglect listening to particular song/album for years
>finally get around to checking it out
>It's GOAT
>All those years you could have been listening to it

i'm still sitting on STGSTV so probably that

I do that intentionally. I neglect songs of a certain artist until I get bored of the ones I have listened to and then flip it. It's really rewarding sometimes. You can get a fresh look on the style and sound you got used to. last one I can remember was april rain.

Autechre albums too

>mfw everything is cool

I've been listening too the same shitty indie rock playlist from high school and top 40 rap until very recently when i started browsing Sup Forums once I was banned from /fa/ I always liked the singles on ToTBL but the whole album is great and is now my fave.

Aphex Twin

Merriweather post pavillion

A lot of Sup Forums core was like that for me in general. There's still a few loose ends like that for me.

I think a lot of albums get a bad rep because they get overhyped to hell, but it doesn't make them bad.

Not years but I've ignored it for a months because it was a meme
Still didn't listen to Jason Aldean though

>Go to family party on mother's day
>Bored as fuck. Go upstairs to cousin's room.
>Make fun of him because he uses beats.
>See pic related on his desk
>LOL ARE YOU FUCKING 13 YEARS OLD LEL A LITTLE TO LATE TO BE EMO DON'T YA THINK? Kek
>He puts it on just to piss me off. I had never heard a complete Manson song in my life.
>Wtf? this album is actually decent...
>Ask him if I can borrow the disc.

Now I ripped that shit and love it. I would never have guessed.

Autechre - Incunabula. Some fuck told me they were bad. Dear God, I'm in a race against time now to listen to all of their shit.

this one.

Death Grips. I waited until TPTB to finally check out what the meme is about...

ITAOTS. It's great now but teenage me would probably have found it a life-changing experience.

ikr i thought they were gonna be some boring poor man's aphex twin but they're actually glorious

...

i had never listened to anything by them, heard the single, and got hooked on the album.

any of their other albums worth a listen?

truly the redpill of music

It's shit, your taste is shit, you are shit

the hype around it killed it. Its a great album, but some autists on here will claim its not just to be cool.

I am not the biggest fan of Have a Nice Life, so I procrastinated to listen to this and it's just amazing.

don't like it as much as ravedeath, harmony or love streams
still nice though

its actually pretty good

Tri Repetaeeeeeeee

Fucking this.

I thought it would be Campfire songs 2.0, boy was I wrong

This. I just assumed it was techno shit because of the cover art.

waited far too long

At first I wasn't really interested, I think the cover turned me off, I thought that it looked like some pretentious hipster garbage.
Boy was I wrong, now C&L is my favorite album of 2015 and Sufjan is my all time favorite musician.

My #2 of 2015, I'm sad that it didn't get that much attention.

>loved Bleed American as a teen
>liked Futures too
>eventually move on and they become little more than "that pop punk band that wasn't as bad as all the others" to me
>see this getting recced all the time by emo lads
>don't really care for emo, assume it's just gonna be a version of their later stuff with worse singing and sloppier production
>eventually decide to listen
>IT HAAAAPPPPEEEENS
>TOO FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAST
>TO MAKE SENSE OF IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT
>MAKE IT LAAAAAAAAAST

Let's get some patrician shit going

94diskont
transient noise bursts
lesson number 1
pull my hair back
spiegel

Whats this album called again?

PATHETIC

John Proctor

This one really hurt

The latest Tinashe album desu

It's really good

I hope you then went and tried some other boris, they're incredibly diverse.

tvu&n

mummy man blues

...

elaborate

most of their other stuff is way heavier and crazier. their split with sunn is amazing though.

you say that like it's a problem.

But actually that's how I got into heavy/noisy shit. Found Flood after ignoring it and loved it so much I pushed through their discog. Now I love shit like early Boredoms, Arab On Radar, Pre, AIDS Wolf, etc.

Kyle Dorey

normie scum get out

but you're actually not wrong senpai desu

>meal

same

Boards of Canada

Everything by Pinback and Modest Mouse. Had one or two songs which I've been listening to for almost a decade. They were just ok to me so I never bothered checking out more. Now I did and I can't stop listening. All this fucking time, they were right under my nose.

...

Sad bag man

>assumed it was ""techno shit""
viper urself my dude

I only listened to At Last Feedbacker (my favorite), Flood and their other collaboration stuff with Sunn O))) and Merzbow.
Does it get better?

Absolutengo is awesome

If you liked the Sunn colab get Absolutego. Amplifier worship is also top tier. Heavy Rocks (2002), Pink, Smile, and Akuma no Uta are more traditional heavy rock/metal but they're still awesome. Dronevil, Vein, and The Thing Which Solomon Overlooked (pt 1, 2, 3 and 4) get way noiser/weirder. Get Attention Please or New Album for something poppier.

Honestly even Noise and Praparat are solid too

amplifier worship. Noise is a good mix of their styles

...

I think the gun club
Btw that reminds me I should listen to the gun club again

Update: I listened to the gun club, now I'm listening to The Dirtbombs

MBDTF

I finally got around to it this past year and I kind of wish I still neglected it. Oh well, now I can say that I own it.

never really liked Radiohead until one day when I sat down and actually started listening

Been listening to this for the last 1-2 months. My Kanye timeline so far is MBDTF, Yeezus, TLOP, CD. Any suggestions of where I should move next? I was thinking LR, 808s, Grad.

...

yes, those ARE his other albums, so i would recommend that if you wanna hear more music from him, you should listen to his other albums.

When did you find out you had autism?

any of it, kanye's not fucking joyce

I was referring to order but that's a good idea too. I'll go with Darkest Before Dawn by Pusha T.

I felt the same way about Flemish Altruism.

music in general.....
I wish i started listening to it before 2 years ago (im 21 years old)

>listen to this because first 3 tracks of Star Wars piqued my interest
>"what is this country bullshit" 2 tracks in
>skip a few tracks, listen to I'm The Man That Loves You
>nope

>a year later, listen to the album again with a more open mind
>favorite album of all time
>I'VE GOT RESERVATIONS ABOUT SO MANY THINGS, BUT NOT ABOUT YOU

...
