A thread died for this

firefox hw accel just werks for me.

Same, but mpv + youtube-dl is god-tier.

Chrome has same problem, hw acceleration is disabled on Linux.

Firefox does not have working hw accelerated video decode on Linux

Anywhere I can get trusted Chromium builds that support .h264 codecs? Might build it myself one day, but too much bother for now.

Why would your web browser play video? It's only supposed to render html+css.

this is PPA with hw accelerated video decode patched in
launchpad.net/~saiarcot895/ archive/ubuntu/chromium-dev

for Arch Linux
aur.archlinux.org/packages/chromium-vaapi-bin/

layers.acceleration.force-enabled to true.

Forgot to mention I was asking for Windows builds.

thats for page rendering retard
video decoding is not hw accelerated

Dont know if this is the issue for Windows

hw accel works flawlessly for years now in official build.

Bad bait user.

Are you using a toaster, OP?

What's the quickest way to open ytube videos in mpv? Copy-pasting the url in a terminal is such a hassle.

Hopefully you get an answer. Been wondering about this myself.
