>whats a good cheap device i can install kali on
don't do that, the cheap device is supposed to be your practice target
kali actually needs a workhorse when you're hashing passwords

Raspberry pi + case + hdmi/gpio screen or extra arduino to drive regular lcd.

Not OP but where can I get a case like this? And does it run off of a battery or do you have to keep it plugged in?

isnt all that shit gonna be more expensive than buying a used thinkpad?

gentoo

Motorola Atrix Lapdock.
It has internal battery.
It's cheaper to get a powerbank and a rpi compatible screen.

Yes that's why I use standard RPI screen with bt keyboard and powerbank.

an EEEpc would be good, but honestly OP you should probably just make a persistent bootable USB. that way you can get handshakes in public and then take it home and crack it on a decent rig.

I just ordered smaller, 5 inch screen to boost battery life past 50 h.

Hm that is pretty expensive but with the separate screen it isn't very portable
Isn't there some way to just put the rpi in the case of an old laptop to use the keyboard and screen or does that require a lot of work to connect them?

>but with the separate screen it isn't very portable
I mount rpi with screen on my head and keep bluetooth keyboard on my laps. It works but 7 inch screen is too heavy, thus the 5 inch screen order.

You actually wear that in public?

When I can't find a flat surface to put my rpi tablet on.

It just looks so silly

That's what they said about selfie sticks.

Thinkpad X200

Can any of these pieces of shit even run OpenGL 3.3

I just put an ssd in mine. Gave it a new lease of life.

Asus Vivobook 203. You can find them for under $200 and they're solid and lightweight.

A Thinkpad X Series
> X61 - Core 2 Duo
> X200 - Core 2 Duo
> X220 - Core i5 2nd. Gen

The X61 is 4:3, the X2xx are widescreen.

Currently running Kali on a X61T. the GNOME version is absolute shit, but the XFCE version works alright considering its a Core2Duo

GNOME and KDE are bloated af.

Have you tried a WM?
I don't, but Sup Forums tells that they are very comfier and don't need a lot of resources to work,

>tfw no X62

Feels bad man...
> t. X61 (poor) owner.
