my scroll bar on the sidebar for youtube has disappeared, i cant scroll through it, what do i do?

Disable whatever user scripts or "enhancer" extensions you have installed for it. The site itself still works.

Quantum Break uses an advanced instruction set (POPCNT) that was introduced in the Core i series, so previous processors (core2 series and c2 based xeons) cannot work. Are there any other PC games that require new architectures or specific instruction sets, or is QB one of the few? I know some Japanese PC games like EDF 4.1 required SSE4.2 before being patched out, which posed a problem for AMD users.

already tried that, disabled everything, didnt work

hello friends

im not your friend, buddy.

I'm not your buddy, pal.

im not your pal, dude

I want to make a stupid question and maybe get a serious answer

How does one become a "hacker"?

open up cmd
full screen it
input "color A"
and then "tree C:\" (replace C:\ with your main storage drive)
congrats, you're a hacker

what is the type of a class?

as in, when you have an anonymous class, what type is that?

I'm serious
I'm learning C and I'll have a spare notebook to install Kali Linux on, I just need some spoonfeed on where to get information and things of the sort

is it safe to upgrade to 4k tv and 4k uhd blu ray if i havent bought a new tv in 11 years?

You'd pay more for a non 4k tv(and its harder to find)
Grab an OLED from LG

Bought a box of sd and ddr ram. Reckon ill be able to flip it? Its like 35 sticks of 256mb sd dimm ram and 50 ddr 512mb sticks. Or i could build pro computers again for locals but dunno what central processors and cylinder drives to buy today

Reposting in the actual proper thread:

1: How can I allocate more space to /tmp? I'm trying to install a large software and it fills it before it finishes. I tried searching and all the results seem to suggest that I would have to use some sort of external storage or another drive to accomplish this.

2: Intellij IDEA works fine, except for the github plugin (which I need). When I try to check out from version control, it does nothing at all when I click github, the other options seem to work fine. There's other ways for me to do what I need to do but I'm curious why this isn't working, I've reinstalled idea and the plugin multiple times.

>flip it?
Such insignificant amounts, no

so how am i supposed to activate windows 10 enterprise 2016 LTSB Evaluation it ends in 90days

If you're using systemd, it allocates to half your ram, you can change this in the tmpfs settings within systemd

SDRAM and DDR1 are really old now, but not old/uncommon enough to be worth much like EDO RAM. Look around on ebay and sell it for prices like what you see. Some people want to build, restore or upgrade old computers with it.

I have Windows 10 installed atm.

How hard is it to install Fedora with GRUB fucking up my Windows 10 install? Is it a simple config edit to add Windows as a boot option or is it automatic in the installer?

Not quite sure what you're trying to say here, but most people buying SDRAM and DDR1 in 2018 aren't putting it in their primary computer. They'll most likely be installing DOS or Win98 on the machine to play retro PC games.

It usually happens automatically.

You will have to use os-prober to have grub setup properly.
However, windows will throw fits and will break the bootloader constantly on the slightest things you do in windows

I watch a lot of YouTube videos, and some Netflix. My 30 day usage is about 1gb per day via the browser. This isnt adding up.
Where does it count YouTube and shit? The massive system usage is me uploading to the NAS.

Attached: Untitled.jpg (1015x725, 97K)

>plugin-container.exe

Does Fedora not come with os-prober in its GRUB config generation scripts? I'm used to Debian which does.

And yeah you will need a boot disk to get back into Fedora after Windows applies updates and blows away your bootloader again.

I dont use either distro, so if they use it as part of it or not, os-prober is still the way to have it setup

Youtube doesn't really use that much. I'm at 116GB for Chrome and I'm a NEET who's online 18 hours a day.

started SICP can't can't find a way to compile/evaluate expressions in LISP - tried downloading and calling gcl like i do for my basic C shit with gcc but it doesn't work - tried a bunch of IDEs I found on google but they're really bad and can't understand how they work. help

Alright, this shit is serious. I got blocked by my ISP from IRC. I couldn't connect to servers anymore. Now I'm unable to access any website aside from Sup Forums. Wtf Sup Forums?

Call your fucking isp

Say what? I've been downloading massive amounts of .pdf files/streaming movies, do you think they're coming for me?

Why does MusicBee use "contributing artists" as the artist of a track as opposed to "album artist"? It seems to make more sense to fill in the actual artist of a track for "album artist" and to add anyone who's featured on a song or who produced it to the "contributing artists" field.

I'm reorganizing and cleaning up all my music and want to have a standardized naming convention for my whole library.

My adivce to you is to sort by directoy
~/Music/Artist/Album/thumbs

I don't really think that's the tool for the job since it's not meant to be temporally stable. If the anime is noisy you can use smdegrain with avisynth.

You should join doom9 if you want to get into this stuff.

You can't.

Grab a Enterprise (not LTSB, why) ISO and use MS toolkit on it.

Can someone tell me what this shit says?

unix.stackexchange.com/questions/4261/cant-access-select-https-sites-on-linux-over-pppoe

>You have the symptoms of an MTU problem: some TCP connections freeze, more or less reproducibly for a given command or URL but with no easily discernible ... Permanently (Debian and derivatives such as Ubuntu, with or without Network Manager): Create a script called /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/mtu with the following ...

what's the rest? I think this might be a common problem on gnu/linux, although this is the first time I ran into it. I managed to connect to google.com, but I can't load any of the results, the pages won't connect. :/

Does SSH work?

Basically, try setting your MTU to a really low value and then work your way up.
It's possible that if your ISP changed something in their infrastructure, it could be encapsulating packets in a.. not good... way, forcing them to become fragmented/

I cannot SSH or connect to IRC servers (that's when the problem started).
>MTU
I don't know what that is, at least not what the abbreviation stands for. Thanks for your reply.

MTU stands for maximum transmission unit. It's the largest size of a payload that your system will put on a packet.

In cmd:
do "ipconfig"
ping your default gateway
ping your DNS servers
ping www.google.com
ping 176.32.98.166 (amazon).

Ok, cool. So what do after that? I just booted up a different OS to see if the problem was from Ubuntu, but it's not.

Were all the pings successful? If not post the results.

I'm not your bro, amigo.

Does this motherboard support an M.2 SSD? amazon.com/gp/product/B00LUY72F6

ctrl + f: m.2
no results found. im going to go with no

No, but you can add one of these in a PCIe x4 slot and do it anyway
amazon.com/dp/B01N78XZCH

Er, the 2nd x16 since there's two x16s and two x1s on that board. You can always plug a smaller PCIe card into a longer PCIe slot.

How do you think this solution would compare to a SATA ssd?

Faster. Potentially even faster than a normal M.2 slot depending on the CPU. Normal M.2 slots usually use chipset lanes. A x16 slot uses direct, dedicated CPU lanes.

The downside is you can't put something else, usually a second GPU, in that slot.

What kinds of keyboards don't support USB to PS/2 converters? I was looking to buy a Logitech K840, but I'm unsure if a USB to PS/2 conversion would work at all on it.

Attached: 71JXUfkdSAL._SX679_.jpg (679x340, 31K)

>don't support
None of them dont
They act on a layer above what the keyboard could control

My guess is that any keyboard without function buttons or weird macros would work, but honestly have no experience desu

Did you tell your router to block ICMP?

Systems should discover the largest MTU they can use for a path between two systems, but that depends on ICMP messages making it back to indicate that packets are being rejected for being too large.

Some "security" guides have you block all ICMP messages.

A PS/2 keyboard will work with a USB to PS/2 converter.

It may work less well in DOS with some keyboards.

>I don't really think that's the tool for the job since it's not meant to be temporally stable.
I do reencode the file with x265 after it's done. The output looked much better than the original source. There was some detail lost but the improvement in clarity was worth it.
I am going to go check out smdegrain though, thanks for the info

What's the easiest way to copy android apps with data from one user on a phone to another?

Any way to backup ALL of my downloaded apps before I do wipe my phone to update my custom ROM?

Titanium Backup

Deciding on what m.2 SSD to get. Currently choosing between the 960 evo 250gb and 860 evo 500gb. The ceiling on my budget is the price of the 960 250gb.

I cant decide between the speed vs capacity. The 960 is obv. a beast, but the 250gb capacity is a bit of a turnoff.

Also if there are any m.2 alternatives on par with the 860/960 price/performance, would love to hear them out.

How do you guys organize music / pictures / documents / porn / etc?
What’s your folder structure look like?

Attached: ca.png (1261x870, 94K)

The extra 250 GB will be worth more to you than the 960's extra speed.

cjeers bud

For music, I hand-pick songs I like from albums, discographies, game/movie OSTs, etc, so I just make a folder with the artist, series, etc. If it's from the same game company with multiple games, like, say sega, I have a folder called "Sega" with subdfolders of the various game tracks. If it's a certain artist like Daft Punk or something, I make a folder called "Daft Punk." I only make distinct folders if there's more than 12 files from the same place so that it doesn't look cluttered.

Will IPS monitors make much of a difference over TN if I've got it in portrait mode?

~
/Pictures
/Videos
/Downloads
/Wallpapers
/Desktop
/lan_mnt
/external

Yes. Most TNs look pretty shit in portrait. They don't like being viewed from what's intended to be below.

That's the problem I have with my music collection, is that I have a lot of albums from Artists, but only want a select few uploading to my ipod. On one hand, I like having the complete album because some songs I have grown to like just because theyre by the same artists and I don't like to have half-complete album folders. But on the other hand, I've got 1500 or so songs from Spotify that I want to transfer to my local drive but don't want to just shove them in a folder called Spotify Songs or some stupid shit.

I do like the idea of sorting by company though, I hadn't thought about that. That should help since I have like 50+ Nintendo game albums.

Thanks for the help. Making this collection decluttered one step at a time.

Attached: sss.png (1024x934, 92K)

how do I make tree style tab look good

Hmmm. Worth an extra 200 bucks for the IPS then?

>extra
You do realize you can buy IPS monitors for like $100 these days?

By using default tab instead of something that takes up 3x more space.

what DNS server do you guys use

OpenNIC, or your own

How taxing is it to have a dual monitor setup rather than a single monitor?

I specifically want to do something with my ultrawide monitor which is to use its PBP function to have two "fullscreen" applications side by side. I can do that by using two outputs on my GPU to connect my monitor instead of one. I know this seems retarded, but Windows doesn't even have third party software that does this.

>How taxing is it to have a dual monitor setup rather than a single monitor?

Like taxing on the GPU? Not any more than using your ultrawide monitor as a single, large screen. It's the same number of pixels the computer has to push.

cool thanks

follow up question, using https and a non-default DNS server obscures the url from ISP? they won't know if someone goes to Sup Forums or /r/homosex or something right

what do i need if i want to boost the signal from a yagi antenna? needs to be via USB

Is there a way to change the taskbar icon for a python script that uses pygame?
I'm throwing together a fake program for an april fools joke, and the default python icons may give it away.
pygame.display.set_icon only changes the title bar icon, and building it into an executable (which does work) has big complications that breaks other parts.

They'll only be able to infer the site via IP address. TLS opens an encrypted connection, and then all the HTTP-ness (to include URLs) happens over the encrypted connection.

but will they know the content of where one goes to even if they know the full url? I would assume yes since you're using their service to load anything at all, but wouldn't that render useless in that aspect?

>My 30 day usage is about 1.2gb per day
i wonder

or will they not be able to considering the encryption?

No.
An HTTPS page load basically works like this:

>DNS lookup of website (Sup Forums.org resolves to 104.16.120.221)
>A TCP session is opened to port 443 on that address
>HTTP then requests the page - this part is encrypted
>The server sends the page back - also encrypted

So the only thing your ISP is going to see is that you're going onto Sup Forums - not which specific board or thread.

>Titanium Backup
So if I upgrade to Oreo, will all the system data be obsolete? I'm using a 7.1 based custom rom (lineage os 14.1)

so say they won't know what videos I watch on say, youtube or pornhub?

I always thought they know everything you do on the net. how do downloads factor into this? like torrents or sites hosting illegal content, how do they know you're not being an upstanding citizen of the law?

we are not your reddit, faggots

should i try to install linux ubuntu on a windows laptop, a macbook, or should i just get a thinkpad?

Not as long as it's HTTPS and you see the little green lock up top.

>torrents
Torrents are completely in the open by nature - you're downloading file from other peers.
That said, your ISP usually doesn't care that you're torrenting. They get notifications from the content owners that you're downloading *their* stuff. The content owners connect to the torrent swarm and can see everyone downloading.

If you already have a computer just use the one you have.
No reason to get another computer just for Linux.

Not with g-sync and shit.

How can I get no script captcha to work on Sup Forums x? And what should umatrix look like for this to work?

ah that's how they know, so the ISP doesn't care but the content owner does? so that's why people use VPN for torrents? neat

so then I'm curious, what does the ISP know about you and your activities? seems to me like they're not really able to monitor much from what you've mentioned

Well sure, you can always make shit more expensive by adding more meme features, but IPS would be the last thing I would sacrifice.
