What happened to the songs where people tried to explain how much another person meant to them? Or how happiness and love were the most important things in this world? Or about some political ideology that they're either for or against?

That's the thing. Black music was once great. But it was only because they were all raised with the desire to prove themselves. They were treated as lesser, so they went out of their way to prove otherwise, using all of their struggle to fuel their art.
Now, they seem to be completely content to act like base animals, screaming and getting violent if anyone were to dare question their inferior behaviour. They wallow in primitive mind-sets, instead of striving to overcome them. Regardless, mainstream popular music across all genders smells of cash grabs and sodomy. Everything off those trash "Let's repeat five songs for three hours!" seems to be calculated to appeal to the lowest common denominator. I think urban culture has tainted a lot of thee other genres. If I wanted to listen to pop, why to I have to sift through an hour of trap music. Generic rock needed to split into post-punk and metal just to stay afloat. I miss Funk, Folk, Acoustic, Techno, or any other genre completely monetized by the corporate machine.
