This thread is about the appreciation of horology, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
The steel americano or w/e tank dresses down about as well. In general across the entire ranges you are right, but the tank range is so wide you will find something.

I’m hoping that they will eventually release the Vintage GMT in smaller size too, but the I’ll probably but the pepsi anyway. After all it’s an ETA 2893 and the bracelet is not stamped, if it wasn’t a rip-off it would actually technically be a decent watch
Are there any good digital pocket watches besides this Soviet-era Elektronika? I wanna have a pocket watch for when move to Svalbard where I might not want to pull up my sleeve to look at my watch.
So I know Raketa's quartz Amphibia exists. But I wonder how hard would it be to convert a Vostok to quartz? The dial feet could be cut and either solder new in, or use adhesive dial pads. Then I'd need a quartz movement that has the hour wheel, seconds and canon pinion compatible with the stock Vostok hands (if I don't want frankenhands that is). Also somehow carve out a movement spacer ring.
The hard part would be cutting the stem and somehow rigging the non-removable crown to the quartz stem, and also picking a movement where when installed on the dial the stem hole on the movement is properly at level with case tube, else the whole abomination won't work.
It would be kind of hilarious if it was signed with a shitty ballpoint

Does this model have a screw down crown?

I thought hard about doing so

It's not a ballpoint. Her hand would be dead and they'd be signed with some other name in short order. Alternative is rollerball, but they get kinda scummy in short order and she wouldn't want to risk that shit signing on such nice paper. The management and concierge and the like at 5 star hotels all sign with a fountain still (if they don't they fucking should, or you should stay somewhere else because the standards have dropped). One of the top watchmakers in the world would do the same. Ballpoints and their practicality have their place in the world. Signing on nice paper to prospective bigwig clients is not their place.
t.user who has signed too many fucking contracts on shitty paper because his partners are cheapasses and so he can't ever use his nice pens to conclude a deal
(When my side's responsible for drawing up the papers, at least I fucking make sure I use nice paper for fuck's sake. Skimping a few measly cents is pathetic.)
I would like to know what pen and ink she is using.

lol no. If I was lawyeranon I sure as hell wouldn't be shitposting on here as I'd be masturbating in bed with all my watches on going up both my arms. I'd aim for the atmos clock for the moneyshot. I collect pens; watches are a loftier and far more costly pursuit.
yeck That shading however really makes me think it's fountain ink. ALS is [richemont], so it'd more likely be Montblanc royal blue, F or dry M nib. (can't tell these days with their inconsistencies). I'd have hope that it was Pelikan KoeNIGSblau though; nicer blue. I'd laugh if she was just using her comfy lamy school pen though, which would be just as likely.

>Quick thoughts on the club? Thinking of picking one up this year Accurate, comfy, nice strap, long lugs. I can't recommend it highly enough.

anyone ever bought a boccia watch? been meaning to get one for my little brother and found the 3533-03 model for 100€. they actually use saphire glas for that shit at 100€, it seems too good to be true. pic related
Lads, I went to Harrods today (high end department store in London) and looked in the Patek, Vacheron, AP boutiques.
I was pretty disappointed desu. Apart from a few with tourbillons they just looked like any other luxury watch that you can buy in the high street. They didn't look like they were worth ~£50k.
That's why it's nicer to just dream, user. Cheaper too. That's why a lolex or a seiko will do you better. You won't be disappointed, and it's a nice, sturdy watch. The end.

how do you want them to look
