You guys told me Apple was the evil boogyman. Does Google or Microsoft take as many efforts to protect your privacy?

microsoft doesn't use eui-64, if that counts

But does it sell your data?

Charles Martin

It for sure definitely counts, but at the same time, Microsoft was the first company to sign on for the PRISM data collection program 11 years ago.

They're less evil than Google, MS, and Facebook, but they're still evil.

Know what would make me stand up and cheer for their Good Deeds? If they declared open war on the advertising industry. Shut down iAds, and ban any in-app advertising from the app store. Make Safari block ads and deliberately try to poison the data returned to """"analytics"""", starting with Google's.

Nobody sell data, sell ads based on demography data, if you watch a lot sci-fy, Google will target you as part group young, male, love new sci-fy things.

Some company will buy ads to show to "young, male likes sci-fy",company never see your data.

Dominic Bailey

As if the ad-targeting isn't creepy and objectionable enough on its own merits, whether they have the raw data or not.

Ayden Watson

They already did all of those things except block ads from 3rd party apps.

Does Google or Microsoft take as many efforts to protect your privacy?
Well, Google for Education, certainly does. It's also fair to say that Google services get used in quite a few schools around the world, though the state should manufacture their own education applications and data storage instead of relying on Google for such things.

edu.google.com/k-12-solutions/privacy-security/?modal_active=none

Regarding Microsoft:
Microsoft gives domain administrators who have deployed Microsoft Windows for Education fine-tuned control over the computers in their domain. The reason why Windows for Education has more advanced privacy features is simply because schools require as much privacy and security as they can get for obvious reasons. Schools won't openly allow for the datamining of their students. To do so would cause massive outrange among parents and teachers.

What did they mean by this?
They mean they're too fucking incompetent to protect user data so they'll just dump the responsibility on the PR department to trick gullible morons into thinking Apple cares.

Yeah, privacy first, unless you want access to the chink market (data stored in PRC for residents, must hand over encryption keys). Profits trump user privacy - Apple just has a slightly higher tolerance for lost profit considering the margins on their products.

Apple, Google, and Microsoft are all evil. Just in different ways.

Apple simply doesn't appeal to tech enthusiasts like the other two companies do, which is why Sup Forums has deemed them the "evil boogyman" and leave the other two companies off the hook.

But I'd say OP already knows this and is just baiting.
