From best to worst
>Kazumoto Endo - While You Were Out
Fun abrasiveness. Most noise pieces I've heard are over-indulgent garbage, but I can genuinely say this is one of the most fun noise albums I've ever heard. Great shit.
>Nina Simone - Pastel Blues
Really passionate vocal jazz with a lot of blues background. Can't think of any of these covers where I like the original more. Even tracks like "Be My Husband" which are super minimal are just as emotional.
>Ground-Zero - Null & Void
Liked this a lot, especially the last half, but to me it's their most formulaic and predictable. Seems to me the only "full" tracks on here are the "movie" and "international" tracks.
>Amon Tobin - Supermodified
The first three tracks are amazing, but what's with that instant drop in quality? There's literally a "beatboxing" track that just sounds like farting turntablism.
>Midori - Shinsekai
Less fun, abrasive, or interesting than their other stuff, but I loved some tracks from here. after their second album there isn't much by them that surprises me I guess.
>Aoki Takamasa + Tujiko Noriko - 28
The weak glitch elements from this just make the interesting indie-esque songwriting 90% less interesting or satisfying than it could've been without it.
>Type O Negative - World Coming Down
Slightly better than October Rust, but I still can't believe this is what people love from TON after I loved SD&H.
>Type O Negative - October Rust
THIS is the TON everyone loves?? What the frick? This is like half as good as Slow Deep and Hard. Repetitive, chose humor and style over melody or my interest.
>Von Lmo - Cosmic Interception
Gay no wave
>Spiritualized - Songs in A&E
Sweet Heart Sweet Light with shit singing, no catchy melodies, and zero genuine charm.
Next post should finish this series off but who knows.
