Currently working on a third album while also editing a video for a new track. Shall be uploading it sometime next week, hopefully. Thank you for having a listen.

>new beat tape composed of old and new beats that I had sitting around (aka: not worth finding rappers or rapping on myself)
>experimental hip-hop
>a lot of these are influenced by dub, wall-of-sound production techniques, ethereal wave, and illbient
>captures a lot of my growth because some of these go back to september of last year
a lot of the composition is really minimal but it works rhythmically. The sparse glitch sound is doing you well. I have to admit, I do really like the tracks with a lot of sub-bass and I think that Haxan Cloak-type sub-bass would do a lot of your tracks some good.
There's not much here. A lot of your sounds are interesting and unique but there's nothing to draw the listener in because of the incredibly bland repetition. I do like the bassline and noise on the first track though. The second track is almost irredeemable and sounds as if no effort was put into it.
I love the fuzzy, lo-fi production. The drumming is alright (but definitely passable). I do thoroughly enjoy the guitar work though. The tone is amazing and it has some pretty nice licks on this record.
I'd recommend finding a dedicated producer. Everything sounds muddy. I would suggest mixing the vocals lower and bring the guitars up. The bass is also mixed a little too loudly compared to everything else (I'm a fan of prominent bass but it really isn't doing much good here). Otherwise, the band's playing is pretty tight.
Reminds me a lot of The Glow-era Microphones. I think you follow the formula of lo-fi, spacey, fuzzed-out folk well but you could definitely do a lot more to make it sound like your own. Overall, great work on this though.

haven't seen this on here before but I'm really digging it, tons of energy. I kinda wish the vocals were a bit higher up in the mix but I can also see the appeal in having them a bit muffled. Either way good shit.
Listened to a bit from both albums, and while for the most part I do like what you're doing here, something about it doesn't grab me in the way that I feel it should. It's like the ambient spacey material doesn't quite work with interesting enough textures to keep me engaged, and the more sparse folkier material doesn't quite have strong enough melodies to make that kind of thing work. Of course that's speaking very generally as there were specific songs/moments I thought were great, but that's just kind of my thoughts as a whole. Hope that didn't come off as too negative, in a larger sense I did like it.

Nice atmospheres, underwater dub was really cool but got boring fast. would probably be a more enjoyable listen at night. Abandoned riddim was interesting but I didn't really like the drums. I liked the snare but the hi hats and the kick felt too spacey and bland.
This is pretty. Not huge into lo-fi but I'm a fan of all the effects youve incorporated here. The subtle touches in the background really give these songs a lot of depth.
Cool concept with some good results. Only thing I'm not sure about is the reverb on the drums, they sound nice and full but sometimes a little too boomy. I love the synth at the end of Hatch Azure, I'm a sucker for square lfos. Every song I've heard so far is pretty nice, downloading and listening to the rest later

El Vacio Del Gaucho (2015) was composed over several months and, while recorded 'live' (simultaneously) it has overdubs and some studio trickery.
Our jam albums Zapadas vol 1 and 2 are selections of completely raw recordings and 100% improvised music made just for fun but are pretty nice albums in themselves. Then there's the debut self titled album from 2012.

We're playing a show with Tim Heidecker of Tim&Eric this Friday??? Yeah, we actually are. At Harlow's in Sacramento.
Check out the other stuff on Petal Port, it's all good ;)
Also a Japanese blogger did a write up on our split that we released recently??? Pretty cool, poorly translated but here it is anyway.
translate.google.com
The lineup of the band is something that the blogger was confused by unfortunately, but just to clear it up for everyone:
I (Brett) started Larksburg as myself, releasing demos on bandcamp in 2013 (I compiled most of the pre-Giantlife bandcamp releases onto a cassette that I'll be giving out for free at shows this year). In 2014 I released 'Giantlife' on Petal Port as a solo act. Then, in 2015 Nik and I recorded 'Made' in March/April of 2015 (found on my personal bandcamp) which featured Cody Johnson on lead guitar, I did everything else. Following the recording of 'Made,' Larksburg formed as a four piece to do live shows in the summer of 2015 as myself on guitar+vocals, Nik Clay on bass, Dylan Johnson on drums, and Cody Johnson on guitar. We played two shows and ended up recording 'Eye Contact' as a four piece in July/August. 'Made' was released in September of 2015. Then, Nik and I did the split sometime in November, it was released in March of 2016. Twinkle Park is Nik's solo band. To add to the confusion, Cody and I also recorded another album in December of 2015 and January of 2015 that could be out later this year or early next year, Dylan plays drums on some of the songs.
